I cannot get my new Inspire to register my sleep patterns. I am semi mobile due to medical issues but when I sleep at night it does not register my sleep. My wife wore it one night to make sure it was not broken and it registered her sleep pattern. Any suggestions?

Hi @Bopar, welcome to our Fitbit Community. Regarding the sleep tracking issue that your Inspire HR has experienced, I'd like you to restart it as described in this help article. After this, check out this help page, which explains how your Fitbit device tracks your sleep patterns.
Finally, monitor your Fitbit device and see if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome.

I restarted and checked out the help page on sleep tracking but it is still not tracking any sleep patterns. What can I try next?

We have the same problem with my hubby. His sleep won’t track properly either. He gets either a short sleep or 2 different ones or Columns The 2 different ones or the columns cant be edited.
We have tried all the suggested things to reset etc. its worse after a recharge.

None of this has worked. Do you have any other suggestions?

check to make sure you have it set on sensitive not normal sleep -- if the other person has more normal pattern and it detected it I think you might need to set it on sensitive for you

We have tried both. I have now set it to sensitive. We will see how it goes.
I have also changed hand worn to dominate because although he is left handed and wears band on the right he uses his right hand nearly as much as his left.

Why cant the fitbit record sleep or activity during the scheduled times? Instead of choosing its own times like it appears to do.

I had the cheapest Fitbit tracker for the longest time, they no longer make it, it served my purposes which was to track my sleep. I upgrade to Versa 2 and it completely misses hours of sleep, which completely screws up my personal metrics. Why did you people change a perfectly good function for more bells and whistles? Are these things programmed in firmware? Can you do updates?
Fitbit needs to address this ASAP.

Ok we have restarted it, set it to sensitive and it still does not register any sleep at all. At least before it was registering sleep at odd times during the day when he was awake. I am frustrated and so is he. He got this for Christmas especially for sleep and it does not work at all. What can we do?

I have the original Inspire, and have had this problem since I first got it. It did register a bit at first, but it thought when I was sitting still in a chair or at the computer - that I was sleeping. then it stopped doing that. I could set it when I turned off the light at night, and stop it when I woke, but it just took all that as sleep, never registered movement, etc. as my original One did. It's not that important to me, so I ignore it.

Ok this seemed to work. Restart fitbit. Make sure you have fitbit set on wrist on, have sleep set to sensitive, change to dominant hand. Once we did all these things it has worked for two nights!!

That's not going to work for me, as I wear the clip. EM
