I've been trying to update the firmware for two days. Every time, I get this message: "Unable to start firmware update/Firmware update cannot be started right now because the system is busy or the device is not connected. Try again in a few moments."
I have to wonder — after looking at the complaints on this board about the update — if this is a misguided attempt to force us to upgrade.

Hi @KMSBSW, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'd like to follow up and help you with your Inspire HR since the the firmware update can't be processed. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.
Please restart your Inspire HR as described in this help article. After this, try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. Finally, run the firmware update again and see if it gets completed.
Keep me posted on the outcome.

It seems that many of us are having the same problem and receiving the same message regarding out attempts to upgrade our software. This tells me that it would seem to be a software issue and not a user issue. I have attempted the steps that you recommended. If the issue is not resolved soon, this product will end up in the trash.

Hi, @JuanJoFitbit ; I'd also appreciate some assistance.
My Inspire will not sync and cannot process the firmware update.
I have taken every step suggested in the help articles multiple times and spent ages on chat with "customer support" tonight. I was told that my issue is being "investigated" and that I should keep my app updated because I will not be informed when any solution is ready or prepared. Basically, my product has stopped working, and FitBit will do nothing to assist me. This is, frankly, the most appalling "customer support" I've ever experienced.

It doesn't work. None of these things worked. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing. The Fitbit is worthless.

I am having exactly the same problem. I have gone through all the steps suggested, restarting my Inspire HR, rebooting my iphone and retrying. It won't update the firmware, repeatedly saying : "Unable to start firmware update". It won't synch without the firmware update so this unit is basically useless now. Ready to switch to another brand of fitness tracker if this can't be resolved within 24 hours.
