Inspire Series Firmware release - 1.88.11

Fitbit Update 09/3/2020: Thank you all for your participation in this thread. Since the majority of Inspire Series users have reported successfully updating their firmware, I am closing this thread. If you still have not updated your firmware check out this post for some best practices on how to update your device. 
If you are experiencing an issue with your Fitbit unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the community or find a related topic. Thanks again for all the great feedback.

Update 8/20/20: The Inspire firmware release of 1.88.11 should now be available to all customers today. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist. Please keep this thread on-topic by only providing feedback after updating your Firmware to 1.88.11. 

 


We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Inspire/Inspire HR to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. 

 

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Same with mine! This one was a replacement for my original one I got in March 2019- stopped working by July 2019...now that one lasted just barely over a year. It’s outside of warranty. Too many issues for my liking...so will not be replacing it, I’m afraid. Loved it when it worked...but just not thrilled with its support.

Since this update my phone no longer syncs with my Inspire HR!!! 😒 Have tried most everything I can think of. Unstalled and reinstalled app on phone after restart.,  I did the reset on the Inspire. I hoped that what seems like a big update (30 minutes) Inspire would now sync to my Chromebook. Nope. Won't sync to anything, for the last four days! Arghh.

the date, time, and battery icon.

My Fitbit was working fine this morning. I put it on the charger while I showered and it hasn’t  worked since. Screen is black. No sensor lights are on. Won’t start or reset and my phone can’t find it. one fix said to remove the device from my account and set it up as a new device, so I did, but since it can’t be found, now I’ve really lost my data.

To be fair, after initially totally not working- finally my brand new inspire hr updated the firmware and is now working totally fine. So I am going to keep it rather than return but just annoyed I don’t have confidence in the brand anymore or that my tracker won’t bust up on the next update.

When I cycle thru the icons on the FitBit it keeps showing the one for notifications, which I have disabled. How do I make it go away? This has only been an issue since it updated last night.

Mine has downloaded, it seems to work fine but there are now even more redundant screens and no way of reordering them. Why two clocks? Why a resting heart rate screen? I have my clock face set to all the data so don't need those repeated. I want to move my steps per hour up because I use that to make me move during the day. What's with the notifications screen before my swipe to exercise? Why can people not just leave things alone?

If you go into the app on your device, go under the Inspire and under APPS. If you unclick the Notifications app (you may need to scroll to see it), it will delete from your device and the app. I wanted to re-order my apps and deleted it and now its gone. So my accident may be to your advantage.

Since the update my Inspire HR is useless, the battery only lasts 2-3 hours, destroying all use of it and all my stats. Why isn’t anyone answering in this thread and telling us if you are working on a new update? So disappointed.

What if this killed my Fitbit? Will I be able to get it replaced? Your support is no longer available - either by phone or any other medium... how can I submit a warranty claim? or get a support ticket?

It was working in the morning on Saturday, and then went black before noon. I'm really sad that my Fitbit has died without reason or warning.

do a chat with customer care. Mine is dead. dead. They sent me a link to
order a new one. Either same model or upgrade. I am a bit suspicious about
the timing of this. I thing they just want you to upgrade. I'm on the
fence.

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to remove new screens (battery level and notifications)? After the update: water, sleep, weight disappeared. The hourly reminder for no steps is not working (I have the screen but it doesn't move at all).

The number one problem with the inspire firmware is that there's too much garbage to scroll through to get what you want.. so this update adds more useless screens in more inconvenient locations? What??

Hi, I have done an update of the firmware for my Inspire HR and it shows that I have successfully updated the firmware in my Fitbit App. However, the screen of my device is black. I have pressed the bottom at the side for more than 5secs but my device is still off. Please advice what's the next step to troubleshoot this issue as I have never encounter this before. Thank you.
