Fitbit Update 09/3/2020: Thank you all for your participation in this thread. Since the majority of Inspire Series users have reported successfully updating their firmware, I am closing this thread. If you still have not updated your firmware check out this post for some best practices on how to update your device.
If you are experiencing an issue with your Fitbit unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the community or find a related topic. Thanks again for all the great feedback.

Update 8/20/20: The Inspire firmware release of 1.88.11 should now be available to all customers today. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist. Please keep this thread on-topic by only providing feedback after updating your Firmware to 1.88.11.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Inspire/Inspire HR to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

@CheshireKot See my post above to get rid of the notifications screen. No solution on the battery level screen

on 8/15/20 my FitBit Inspire HR just suddenly stopped working. It was nearly 80% charged and it just went dead. When I plug it in to the charger, nothing hold the button to do a reset and still nothing. I just got this in February. So I am not very happy about this. What can be done to fit it?

My HR is trying to update with the new firmware but the process has become a nightmare. It will begin updating but quit/fail after a couple hours, and not sync properly during that time. The update has been attempted several times now without success, so the HR and the app have been mostly useless for two days. The device has several problems previously so I was hoping the new firmware would fix the bugs, but it doesn’t look like it will be able to update at all.

After doing online chat with Fitbit, I was sent a replacement for the Inspire HR. (It was still under warranty.) Based on the continued comments and lack of response from Fitbit, maybe I should've taken the reduced price upgrade, but I really don't want a BIGGER bracelet. At this point, I'm ignoring the "invitation" to update the firmware and it's working fine. If they don't fix the issue, my next tracker will be from another brand.

Since updating my device is not recording exercise, only active minutes. This is frustrating. Why is it happening? Also, I have my device synced with My Fitness Pal. Any workouts or exercise that I do are not recorded in MFP - only steps. Again, why? Please come back to me with some ideas of what I can do get it working properly.

Excellent, thanks Ata1anta - great tip on turning off the Notifications screen.
I am still hoping the update will be pulled or replaced though - appears badly designed and badly implemented. (Coming from someone with a Masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction and years of work in software design... it's a shocker.)

Since updating I have noticed repeated problems with my hr. It randomly disconnects from my phone and my phone says it cannot find the tracker. More importantly the hr function itself seems to turn off randomly, the led light will go out. Hr is ON when I look at the settings screen and the only way that I have been able to get the hr to work again is by completely resetting the device and clearing all data. Which is a pain and seems a temporary fix because the problem happened again. Is there a way to rollback the update?

Thanks for chiming in Andrea. The notice of an available update came in for me today. I've never had update trouble before with my Inspire HR from soon after launch (March 2019). This time around I think I'll wait a few weeks.

I just wanted to add some more information. The hr beginning to malfunction happened a few days if not a week after I updated my device, so the two may not be connected. I have contacted tech support and their solution was to send me a new Fitbit, which should arrive in about a week. Since the update specifically I have noticed I no longer receive notifications on my Fitbit from my phone

Fitbit Inspire HR updated 8/14/20. After the update the screen went blank. No green lights, nothing! Tried to connect it to the charger and hold the button, nothing. Cleaned the contacts, nothing! So disappointed as this was a Christmas gift

Hi Kate,(Fitbit moderator) Considering all the complaints about tracking and app recording after the installation (7-31-20) of the latest firmware update, is Fitbit doing anything to correct them? My issue and I've seen other FitBit users with the same complaint, is that since installing the latest firmware update my Inspire HR with Premium subscription no longer shows my sleep score, stages, or heart graph - restoration score. Any suggestions and reassurance that Fitbit is aware of these problems would be greatly appreciated.

I update my firmware two weeks ago and now it's no longer tracking my exercise or sleep and no longer receiving vibration notifications. This is quite frustrating as I now have to manually enter exercise (which now inflates my numbers) and sleep.
What is being done to fix this as looks to be a big problem.

Since updating my device on Monday I've noticed 3 issues;
I have tried restarting the device by holding the power button whilst it's on charge but that doesn't seem to have changed anything as it's still not recording HR therefore I assume other issues re sleep and exercise tracking are still ongoing.

@AndreaFitbit Respectfully, all of these problems are not going to be solved by basic troubleshooting because they are due to the recent firmware update. Before the update, my inspire lasted on a full charge for 4-5 days easily, since the update it can barely last 12 hours. That’s a bit drastic for a “gradual decline in battery life over time.” In addition, while I was having sporadic problems with the heart rate function, those problems are gradually getting worse as well with it now being off or displaying a random number that makes no sense most of the time. As you know, I have already contacted your tech support and being sent a new device, I do not plan to update that device
