Fitbit Update 09/3/2020: Thank you all for your participation in this thread. Since the majority of Inspire Series users have reported successfully updating their firmware, I am closing this thread. If you still have not updated your firmware check out this post for some best practices on how to update your device.
If you are experiencing an issue with your Fitbit unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the community or find a related topic. Thanks again for all the great feedback.

Update 8/20/20: The Inspire firmware release of 1.88.11 should now be available to all customers today. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist. Please keep this thread on-topic by only providing feedback after updating your Firmware to 1.88.11.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Inspire/Inspire HR to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Everything works for me. I like that you can remove the notification app and very happy screen brightness was added! Thankfully it didn’t mess up the watch functioning accurately. Only disappointment it said there were new clock faces, none with my update! Come on Fitbit add more options!

Love the new update, everything works fine so far on my end. Unlike many others, I like the second time screen because it has the day of the week and the month listed there. I know it was an answer to a cry that none of the watch faces having a day of the week feature like the Alta watch faces had, so I appreciate you guys listening. As opposed to others, my battery has not depleted vastly. It went down only 1% since I did the update this afternoon. I also like the Notification app because you can go back to that page if there were notifications that you may have missed. My only qualm is that the update promised new watch faces, and that was not evident in the app. Any idea why the new watch faces aren't showing up?
Also, I’m not a big fan of the battery level showing up on the 2nd page when it can easily be shown by pressing the button on the side.

I’m having problems with my inspire hr now as well like everyone else. I tried updating the firmware but it failed, and now the app says my fitbit isn’t connected to the bluetooth despite my iphone bluetooth saying it’s connected. Been trying to fix this all day today but it still won’t update or connect.

Updating the firmware failed!!!
Hold the tracker button more than 5 sec, but cannot power on it.

So far this update is frustrating. I don’t use the notifications on the device ever and I am very upset that there isn’t a way to remove that option as what you see when you’d swipe down. I want exercise to be there like it used to be. If a person doesn’t use notifications then having that screen is a nuisance. As well as having the battery, time, and date when swiping up. What is the point of that? The time is already on the main screen and if you want the date you can choose a clock face that has one. You just have to hold the aide button to get the battery life so please tell me what is the point? Please say that a fix is in the works because this update has caused the device to be more of a nuisance and causes frustration rather than being helpful. As multiple people have commented on these problems with the update I truly hope that they are addressed. Plus the update drained my battery-it took over an hour and 20% of my power. So far nothing but problems and irritation with this new update.

After updated the latest firmware, the battery drain very fast from 72% to 6% within an hour. Is this normal and how can I resolve this?

My Inspire HR won't update. Followed all the instructions and while the app indicates the firmware is updating, it doesn't complete. The face of the device has the "progress bar" showing it is updating, but it never completes.

Ata1anta found a way of removing the notification app.
On you phone go to the page for you device, select apps, find the notification app, uninstall it.
It's worked for me.

Hi everyone! I'll continue assisting you with your Inspire Firmware update inquiries.
@Individual00, thanks for reporting and for letting us know about your Inspire HR's behavior and the steps you have followed. Please make sure that the Heart Rate monitor is ON or in AUTO mode. What you describe with sleep is related with heart rate and were the exercise records affected after the update?
@SunsetRunner, we start with basic troubleshooting in order to determine if the device is defective. Since you're already in touch with our Support Team, keep in touch with them for further questions regarding your tracker.
@HopeYeo, I'm glad to hear you're getting a replacement device.
@Leejolly, @Theatresm, @SleepyAurora welcome and thank you for the feedback. Please know that we provide feedback to our team based on community posts and we are always working on improving our devices and overall environment based on what you share here.
@elliott-michael and @benpptung, @illinicb, please follow troubleshooting steps from my previous post.
@kelvinlau2000, it's a normal behavior that the battery drains fast while updating. Please let us know if the battery drain situation persists.
@glasgowmatthew, thank you for the advise.
Let me know if you have more questions.

Ever since the update the GPS quality has decreased significantly. It is taking roughly 40s off every km running and when I check the map you can see that it is cutting corners. Hopefully this can be fixed, otherwise it seems fine!

Since the upgrade I no longer get the detailed sleep tracking. No matter wher I position on my arm or how tight, it says it cant track it.

The battery drain fast even after the update. From 100% to 0% within 3 hours. Now my Inspire HR can’t even turn on after the battery flat... my god!!!! Really nightmare!!! Not reliable at all

I updated last night also. Now I'm not getting notifications. I am STILL not getting hr graph while sleeping. It is giving information on heart rate but no chart so you can narrow down times.

I went on my usual 5K run this morning after updating my device yesterday. It seems to be tracking most metrics just fine (as in HR, steps and so on) excerpt for one glaring error: the map is completely inaccurate. I know this because this is a usual run of mine mid-week, and the old firmware was tracking all the little intricacies and mapping it accordingly.
When I track my runs, I open the Fitbit app on my phone, then I open "Run" on the exercise app through the Fitbit and wait for it to pair with my phone. This has always worked in the past but now it has me running through buildings and properties.
I mean, it DID shorten my pace by fifteen seconds and I'll take that in the middle of a heat wave! But jokes aside, I hope this gets fixed soon.

The firmware update still fails every attempt. It shows a progress bar on the app and the device, but the bar progresses very slowly (for hours) and then fails. The device is unusable during these hours and hours of attempted updating so I have started ignoring the prompt to update when I open the app. My HR is still slow to connect to my phone, slow to sync and often failing to sync.

I applied the update to my Inspire (not HR) yesterday and so far it looks good to me. I like the new battery indicator. I didn't update it in any special way. Just made sure I had a full charge and said go. I hope everyone gets theirs sorted out.

I have followed and tried all the troubleshooting steps from several articles from fitbit, including that one, multiple times and I’m still having problems with not being able to update the firmware without being told it failed because it “lost connection” to my bluetooth

Does your phone have a notification setting that you can toggle off? I managed to get rid of the Notification icon by going to my phone's Settings icon, going to my notifications and turning them off.
