Fitbit Update 09/3/2020: Thank you all for your participation in this thread. Since the majority of Inspire Series users have reported successfully updating their firmware, I am closing this thread. If you still have not updated your firmware check out this post for some best practices on how to update your device.
If you are experiencing an issue with your Fitbit unrelated to the firmware-up process, I invite you to start a new topic on the community or find a related topic. Thanks again for all the great feedback.
__________________________________________________________________________________
Update 8/20/20: The Inspire firmware release of 1.88.11 should now be available to all customers today. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist. Please keep this thread on-topic by only providing feedback after updating your Firmware to 1.88.11.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Inspire/Inspire HR to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

My sleep is there but grayed out and unusable. Also found out today the gps has me running through people’s Yards a straight line from point a to point b instead of following the course taken

Since I updated my firmware last week, I am unable to read the screen of my fitbit. There is just a very small piece of the screen that is visible. I can't see how many steps, what the time is or set alarms. The fitbit is still working, and I can see my steps on the app. Also, in the past week, I have had to recharge the device 4 times, whereas before this update I only had to recharge it once a week. I'd appreciate help with this. Thanks.

I'm having the same issues as Jce223 since the update. I sure hope Fitbit IT fix these issues soon. My Inspire HR is only months old and I do not expect these issues to happen. Please push another update through to fix these issues!

The app told me today that there was a firmware update so I begin to install it. After getting off work after 8 hrs the update still has not completed, even after logging in and out of my Fitbit account, restarting my phone many times and restarting the watch many times. It is now in the evening and it is still not completed with the update and i just started the update process again! Current version is 1.63.5........what the heck is going on with this?!?!?!?!? Prompts said it would take 30 mins to complete!!!!!!

I’d bet the majority can make the update install. Problem is if you read it appears that the app is too buggy to have been released. I think people would rather have answers to their issues after the install.

Thank you for replying and for the tips, but I've tried everything your post has suggested only to still have the same problem. I've updated both the Fitbit firmware and the iPhone app, restarted the phone and the Fitbit, and double-checked the location services were set to "Always" and it's still problematic.
This has only been a problem since the firmware update.

My Inspire HR has always had some important issues but I have learned to live with those:
It only syncs when FB decides it can. This is on my iPhone, tablet, and the FB website dashboard. Sometimes it goes over 24 hours without syncing even when I try to make it sync.
It will often not connect or pair with my iPhone's Bluetooth.
The sleep icon on my tracker is grayed out. Once I get my devices or dashboard to sync, I can view my detailed sleep data there.
I have tried every trouble-shooting step many, many times on many different days. No effect.
It just does what it does and I put up with it. Eventually I can see all my data.
My data (once I can actually access it) does seem accurate. I mainly use it for sleep data, HR, steps, and walking.
Therefore, I am afraid to update the firmware. I have no confidence that my tracker will work any better, and I'm afraid the things that do work now will stop working.
I agree with the posts that the battery screen is not needed and would be a nuisance.
I will follow this thread and hopefully a new update will be available that fixes the old issues without causing new ones. I'm not going to try to do the current update for these reasons.

Actually you are right, sleep is there greyed out - so unless you look carefully you miss it as I had. In the user manual its not there so I don't think it should be there

@Jce223, have you been able to install the update? What does appear grayed out? What does not work with the GPS and HR.
@TheJerkInPodSix, thank you for troubleshooting. Is the map incorrect every time you track an exercise?
@fbt2, thanks for your comments. I'm sorry for what you have been through. We recommend updating your device but as @TanyaK, this is not mandatory.

I am having the same problems with my Inspire HR. I tried to update the fitbit but it stopped. I unsynced the fitbit with my phone then synced it back. Battery is charging one minute and then the next minute it's down to 19%. Now it is completely dead. Help!

This update came out, and I stopped being able to swipe the screen of my Fitbit, my battery won’t stay charged...have it to 90% one minute and then it’s at 13% an hour or 2 later, and my heart rate monitor completely cut out. And not that it just won’t get a reading, but that the green light doesn’t even come on anymore. Very frustrated at the moment.

The latest firmware update seems to have ruined my Fitbit. It was working perfectly until I updated it. After the update it has not responded to touch. Now the screen won’t come on at all. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with Fitbit as I’ve only had this tracker for one year and a month.

These pages and pages of customer problems are why I'm not going to try to download the update. My Inspire HR already has serious problems, but I've learned to tolerate them. I don't want an update that makes things even worse.
Obviously the update was not ready to be released. Fitbit needs to address these very real problems, both before and after the recent update. FB should be able to make an activity tracker that consistently works and syncs as intended. Why they don't is a mystery.
