Update 8/20/20: The Inspire firmware release of 1.88.11 should now be available to all customers today. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist. Please keep this thread on-topic by only providing feedback after updating your Firmware to 1.88.11.

We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Inspire/Inspire HR to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Maybe they have 12 y/o writing code what really bugs me is the fact they aren’t honest about it and can’t be on the level with their customers

OK Fit bit, what are you going to do?  We (my husband and I) will not be updating our Fitbit devices until this is solved.

Best Answer
So do I. Overall, though, my Fitbit is still working. Speaking of the
firmware update, I think we skipped one and updated to 1.88.11. What
version was that? 1.84?

A device that costs $100+ should last and perform for more than a year. I have had two in just over a year...one was a replacement for the first that died in a matter of 4 months! While I appreciate the offer of a discount on another replacement...I cannot justify spending money on a product with such a poor track record. The volume of frustration on this thread is falling on deaf ears at Fitbit...but be assured it’s not on all of our friends and family! Sorry, but this is goodbye. Time to try another fitness tracker!

I liked my Inspire HR before this updated. I contacted Help and they didn’t understand. I have my home clockface toggle. I then can swipe to the next one which had my steps. Then on and on. I swipe back and forth between the first two a LOT. After the update, a new toggle screen was added, next after the clock face. It has the time, the date and battery use. I can’t move it anywhere else, and it creates an extra unwanted step every time I want my info. How can I arrange the order of my toggles (screens) to suit what I need? If this wasn’t broken, why fix it? I understand perhaps people maybe wanted more info but I want to put that screen further down the choices. Please don’t say I can change my clock face. I know that, this is another screen. Thanks.

Since the update 1.88.11, the step counter on my app displays a cumulative number, not the actual number, of steps I have done, for example today the step counter is showing 52,078 steps when my device is showing my actual steps as 12,217. When the app updates at the end of the day it does record the correct number of steps, however this has only happened since the update.

Also it won't show distance on the distance page until it updates at the end of the day.

Since the update, my Inspire HR no longer displays the map of my run like it used to.

Mine too. Along with other things. I really wish they would notify you of their current issues. I hate spending a half hour or so trying to fix it when it’s them

I updated my Inspire HR last night. Today it no longer is tracking heart rate. I restarted it a little while ago, but it didn’t help. What do I do now?

I chatted  online with support and learned that the HR function was OFF in Settings. The update must have turned it off because I didn’t. Anyway, I  turned it ON and HR is now working!  👍🏽

And the sleep is back. The first swipe with the battery, time and date is still useless as it duplicates info on main face.

Still don't see the new face that was supposedly released in May.

I’m headed out for a run just wondering if my tracker will actually track me again

Well apparently my buying the Fitbit Inspire HR was a waste of mone. Its had more issues than anone should have to put up with. Today my tracker didnt track on my daily run again and I bought an HR to track my heart rate but it doesn't do that either. Maybe I should see if I can find my previous Fitbit tracker a Charge 2 I think but then again that never really worked perfectly either. Com'on Fitbit people shelled out a lot of money for these trackers least they could do is work.

I appreciate the response. To be clear, I did the update, and there nothing specific happened when I did so. Seemed to update properly. Before the update, I was getting GPS map of my runs. Now, even though I activate the tracker as I did before, it no longer shows the map.

I did the firmware update yesterday. Today my inspire hr face is blank - will not display anything no matter how I swipe or tap the screen. I restarted the device. No change. I plugged in to charge, will not display charging. When I sync to the app, the app shows it is recording my steps but I cannot get anything to display on the face of my inspire hr.
