Inspire & Inspire HR Battery Issue

ANSWERED
Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit update: 4/9/19 Our engineers have added the Stats Heavy and Valerie clockfaces back into the gallery. Feel free to re-install them if you had recently removed them due to battery concerns.

Our team was recently made aware of an issue which may be affecting some users battery life while using certain clockfaces on Inspire and Inspire HR. We are currently looking into this and hope to have a fix identified soon.

In the meantime, I recommend switching to one of these three clockfaces: Simple Stats, Shifted, or Analog. After some testing, our team has determined that switching to the above clockfaces should help alleviate potential battery drain.

If you are experiencing short battery life after switching to one of the clockfaces above, I also recommend performing a quick restart and following the troubleshoots listed in this article.

As always, I will be sure to keep you all in the loop as more information becomes available. Feel free to let me know if you have any additional insights or questions. Thanks again!

My firmware is completely up to date. I would be happy with 4 days but I'm not getting that

I have just received a replacement for mine 4 days ago and its already been charged twice.

I'm still only getting 2 days charge out of it.

The firmware is up to date.

I have notifications off. Auto wake off. It doesn't sync all day. There are no alarms. Reminders to move are on from 9am  - 6pm but don't usually go off as the 250 steps per hour is hit.

I don't want to switch the HR off as Ive paid more for that version.

Plus my Charge 2 HR gets 5-7 days from 1 charge and that has all the features switched on!

What are people doing to get more charge out of it?

I am currently wishing I had never bought the Inspire HR!

JO7984, I totally get how you feel! I've had the exact same experience. My initial excitement about the InspireHR has turned to reluctant acceptance. Like your Charge, my AltaHR had a charge that would last four or five days. I do like some of the features of the InspireHR (the ones that I wasn't asked to 'shut off' to get better battery life) so I am just getting used to charging it every 48 hours.

I too am very unhappy that FitBit has not figured out a way to fix this with some kind of system-wide 'fix.' It's discouraging. I'm just hoping they don't abandon it and come out with a newer, better model because of all the problems with the Inspire.

This is my first bad experience with a FitBit product so it's quite disappointing.

It seems to be luck of the draw.  The first one my wife got didn’t work at all.  The 2nd one is getting about 5 days without doing anything special.  The only change?  It’s white!

Alejandro, how is this 'great news?'? Sorry, I don't see it that way at all. I've had my 'new' device for over a month, done what I was supposed to do and still only 48 hours of battery life. NOT great news at all.

Previously i had a flex and loved it!!  Decided to upgrade to an inspire.  Basically, it is just as good, EXCEPT I have to charge it frequently...and I keep getting (!)  Showing up all the time, and I cant figure out why?

It it shows up even after a full charge and there is no reason I can find for this...just annoying.

I hope it's a different solution cause I'm pissed at this point. I woke up to a battery icon. Sorry for language but I am very upset at this point.

@AlejandraFitbit I have already tried all of the suggestions in the article you have put link to. Thanks though .

None of them seem to make any difference to the battery life and some, like turning off the HR feature I do not want to do as a permanent solution as I have paid for that feature. Having said that, when I turned off the HR function it made no difference.

I thought getting a replacement would stop the issue but the battery life is not any better.

It seems to be a big problem with the Inspire HR when I have looked within the forums.

I am still having severe battery issues with Valerie!! I've gone to festivals the past couple weeks where its a bit more difficult to charge a fitbit during the day. I was hoping these would last the weekend and can't even make it past. Previously I had an Alta and since I've switched over to the Inspire I have run into problem after problem. When I got back from EDC this weekend after my battery life lasting Two days (charged before I left on Thursday evening and died on Saturday morning), I found this thread and reset my fitbit, uninstalled and reinstalled Valerie, updated my app, and did basically everything to have a clean slate to see if these problems were fixed. Charged my Inspire up on Tuesday afternoon and it's dead this Friday morning. How could it only have an extra day of charge from all that? I'm switching over to a simpler clock face now but it's super disappointing going from the Alta that could go on average five days to one that can't even last a few days. Can we please get this issue fixed??

I'm still waiting on an email from support. My inspire hr has died twice since this post. I feel like I'm getting less than the 2 day charge now. I took it off the charger at 530am Friday morning and I got the battery icon this afternoon. This is after charging overnight and rebooting. I officially hate this thing. @AlejandraFitbit

My replacement is still only getting 2 days too.l 😞

I've emailed support and they sent me the link (again) on improving the battery life of Fitbit and I have to do the battery drain test and wear it until it turns off.

The battery just seems to drop massively at points.

I'm now making a note of the charge!

It was 100% on Wed evening.

Then Thursday evening was 75%

By Friday evening it had massively dropped to 34% then by the time I woke up on Saturday morning it had dropped to 23%.

I did nothing different on those days yet the battery drained almost double.

I'm so fed up with this now !!

Jo7984, ditto what you said! Fed up is about right. They keep offering the same fixes and keep making belief it's making a difference. It there was a moderator truly reading this, giving the same pat answers clearly isn't the 'fix.' It's really too bad because the InspireHR does have many nice features - I like the button more than the tap of my AltaHR and the clarity of the screen. However, having to charge it constantly diminishes what's good about it.

So, FitBit company, if you're really listening, how about some real answers to the same, same, same problems you are hearing from huge numbers of users?

Actually, I disagree. this is the 3rd activity tracker I have had, one being a knock off one that I bought on-line for $15 that lasted a year and half, and I have never had this bad of battery life! The Up3 I had also had much, much better battery life. If I'd been told that this one would need to be charged every two days a month after buying it, I most definitely would NOT have bought it!

Has anyone received a replacement and it's been any better???

I've had 2 black ones now and still only 2 days out of them.

Are Fitbit looking into why it's happening?

I'm really fed up of it all now.

@Jo7984 My wife received a replacement (her first one never worked) and it is getting about 5 days charge.  It's white, so maybe that's your problem! 🙂

@BBurgDave  I was just wondering as I've heard from a couple of people that they switched to white and the charge is better. It is possibly totally unrelated though.
