Mine was not syncing up after the update, however I finally got this sorted. Had to remove the Fitbit from the app, then forget the Fitbit on Bluetooth settings, then remove the Fitbit app, turn off Bluetooth, restart the phone, and add the app again, then connect the Fitbit up in the normal way.
Didnt work if I didn’t restart the phone nor if I didn’t remove the app. Odd.

You would almost think the Fitbit people would want this process to go a lot smoother.

The lack of customizability of the menu icons that show up on the watch is astounding for a wearable tech product introduced in 2019!! At least let us change the order of the icons! Please make this your next update priority!!

This update sucks. Have done all the bluetooth turning on and off, a dozen times. Even uninstalled and reinstalled the stupid app. Love the tracker but hate this update that wont go

I have a Charge 3 and my partner has the Inspire HR. Both updated without any issues (the Inspire took about 20-25 minutes).
The link is a post on the Charge 3 forums but it is exactly the same procedure I did to update my partner's Inspire HR.
The only thing I can add is keep the phone and tracker for to each other as Bluetooth is notoriously temperamental

Just wanted to give an update. My battery has lasted 3 1/2 days using Valerie and default settings with the latest firmware update. I think I am due for a recharge right now but this is a huge improvement over the old 1.50 firmware before.
I think Fitbit has released a winner! Sorry to those who are having issues but mine is working properly and the firmware really is helping on my model.

@JuanFitbit, about my Inspire HR not able to find the phone when I want to start an exercise from the Inspire HR. It used to work most of the time until the firmware was updated in March (not sure the version but it was the released version before 1.60.39). Since then, getting GPS data from my phone is almost impossible. It works sometimes if I turn off/on bluetooth on my phone.

@JuanFitbit Thank you for responding. The article only mentions the following for the Inspire series:
Version 1.60.39
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
That's not much to go on.
Can you get more details?

Hello, I tried updating mine 2 days ago. I really wish I hadn't bothered. My Fitbit Inspire HR will now not even turn on. I've tried rebooting it multiple times. I get the smiley face, but it doesn't vibrate and doesn't switch on. The face remains black. I've also tried disconnecting and re-connecting it from my my mobile and my laptop. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app. My app tells me that that the update didn't finish installing, however, I can't finish the update because my Fitbit device won't switch on. I've contacted support. I've had my fitbit less than 2 months and was really enjoying using it. So much better than the Flex which I had for a few years. I am thoroughly disappointed and frustrated.I've been trying to fixx this issue for 2 days now. Please help!!

Thank you! It's a pita that we have to jump through all these hoops, but it looks like the app and my tracker will finally communicate with each other again (after not being sync'ed since the update).
Too bad Fitbit couldn't tell us what to do....

I updated this past weekend. Took longer than 10 minutes, but no more than 30. What I did was try to sync data first, and then once that happened (syncing probably took longer than the update.), I started the update. I also turned my screen timeout to over 1 hour as a precaution. I didn't want the process to timeout if the screen turned off. Good luck everyone.
The only thing I noticed in the update was MAYBE better syncing, as in less times I need to tell my app to try to sync (I only sync once a day in the morning manually). Sometimes it would sync on the first try, often, usually takes a few manual down swipes for the devices to find each other.

If this fitbit inspire wasn't free through my works health insurance plan I would be returning it. Every update I have done to date has been a disaster. This last one i simply have given up and have no intention of completing the update.
The step count is not even close to being accurate, I wear it on my non dominant hand but tell the app that its on my dominant hand to lower its sensitivity and I still get over 500 steps added by simply taking a 30 minute car ride. I need a setting for Michigan roads, they are bumpy.
This product was clearly a case of management promising a product to market by a certain date and not completing the engineering work required to produce a solid product. It is clear that Fitbit has placed profit ahead of quality with the inspire line.
I dont feel very inspired to purchase any fitbit products in the future. The cost of poor management will be higher then the quick profits.

Follow up in the Feature Suggestions Forums too! I think this current thread is mostly about the update but not design features.
