Fitbit Update 7/16/19: This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.
Hi all! We've begun releasing Inspire & Inspire HR Firmware update (1.63.5) to customers!
This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. You can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
We have 5 new clock faces you can try. Find them in the Fitbit Clock gallery. To change your clock face, see How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your tracker can be found here. Please be sure to have your Inspire or Inspire HR attached to your charger while updating.
If you run into any trouble updating your tracker, please try these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Will this update correct the horrible tracking of steps? I have been wearing my Alta and Inspire because I suspected the inspire was wrong.. The inspire is counting double the steps

You are correct , my wife wanted to upgrade to INSPIRE HR and it was a disaster in every way , wrong step counts , wrong calorie burn calculation , wrong exercise detection , sometimes not even detecting exercise like running although it was an 11 km run ??? total incompatibility with Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (here goes nothing) , so she reverted to her old ALTA .
2019 and Fitbit is still struggling with device compatibility and tracker functionality ?? Fitbit should be concerned and concentrated to ANDROID/IOS compatibility rather then specific device.
Right now Fitbit feels like a starting company just hitting the market still exploring their place in it with overpriced devices and bad functionality and not like some PRIME TRACKER company that actually started all this tracker trend..very disappointing . 100USD +shipping Inspire HR is now resting in the drawer with unknown future .

Agreed @dvojinov . @MattFitbit can you tell us if this firmware update will correct the problem of InspireHR not connecting to Windows 10 PC desktops with bluetooth built in? Not sure it will matter, since I can't wait around for 1-3wks for my device to get the update before I decide to return it. But if updates are in the works to improve connectivity, and step counts, I might stick with it.

In this recent week gone I’ve purchased and set up new Inspire HR so I am not sure when during setup the new/old version of software was loaded however all steps keep being erased when Inspire HR synced. I’ve previously had together on same account Charge 2 and Flex 2 which worked harmoniously but now since adding Inspire nothing works at all.... not happy!!!!

Hey
This might be a dump question, but in the app (and on the watch) is says that my firmware version is
34.20001.60.39.
Am I only suppose to look at the last part of the number or what is going on here?
I also agree with the other users that the communication on what has been worked on and fixed in this update can and should be more clear - no wait, it should exist, there is NO information....

Hi @MattFitbit! Could you elaborate on whether the bug fixes include any changes to step accuracy (specifically the issues around driving sensitivity and hand movements that aren't steps)? I don't expect a wrist step tracker to be 100% accurate, but the number of extra steps seems to be unreasonably high for the Inspire and Inspire HR

Unfortunately I can’t even get the firmware on my device and I’m not waiting weeks. I have a very expensive useless brick right now.

None of your tips or troubleshooting works! This seems to be a common experience I have with Fitbit

Me too. I gave up. I wish I would have done some more research about the inspire before I bought it. I’m about to jump ship and return it.

Hi @LF78, @LAK58, @Momster22, @Angelque, @Johndeere87, @SunsetRunner, @Rik430, @Maryfit and @Clairdelune. Welcome to the Community Forums. @dvojinov and @AM003, it's nice to see you around. I'm sorry for the delay in my reply.
@LF78, this sounds strange, and thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far. May I know your phone's model and OS version? In the meantime, I'd recommend to set it up as a new device with the following steps:
@LAK58, thanks for the information provided. This update will bring improvements for your device, I'd recommend to download it so your device can work correctly. If the steps are still double counted, please let me know if this happens when doing a specific activity. Have you verified your stride length in the Fitbit app? I'd recommend to perform a restart so your Inspire can be refreshed.
@dvojinov, thanks for joining the conversation. Let me explain that we've not received specific details about the update, but our team has worked on this firmware version to improve the performance of our devices. About your Inspire HR not syncing, although your Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus phone runs Android, each device works differently, this is why our team runs test for each of them to ensure they'll work with the Fitbit app. I'd recommend to either try syncing with any other supported device so your information can be updated.
@Angelque, I'm sorry that you're having this experience, and thanks for letting me know. Although your Inspire HR isn't pairing, does it show steps on the display? If so, I'd recommend to try the following steps to reconnect it:
@Momster22, thanks for you question. @AM003 and @SunsetRunner, thanks for letting me know about your steps. I see your point of view and I'm sorry that this is happening with your device. I've checked with our Support Team and apparently they already took your case under their wings. Please keep an eye on your email inbox, you'll get some information about your case.
@Johndeere87, thanks for joining us. The last part of the firmware number will show the version that you have. In your case, you still have the 1.60.39 version, so please wait until you receive the latest version 1.63.5.
@Rik430, @Maryfit and @Clairdelune, thanks for bringing this to my attention, as well for your efforts while troubleshooting your devices. I'm sorry that you're going through this experience. Yesterday we had some issues with our system which affected some devices when updating the firmware. While this was resolved, could you please let me know what error message is displayed in the Fitbit app? Have you made sure that the Fitbit app is updated to the 3.0 version? May I know your phone's model and OS version?
Keep me posted.

I was finally able to install the update early today, so I’m glad whatever the bug was, it was worked out quickly. So, I’m going to hope that it gets better from here. My $10 target one was great but did not track HR, hence my purchase. I did like how easy everything was to figure out once I got it to work and the choices of clock faces to choose from is amazing.

I got help from the on line chat ....took about an hr to work through the issues regarding my inspire not syncing ...but it’s working now ...the agent told me that the device and app should reset at midnight so that it reads steps ....at least it’s now syncing with my iPhone.....which it wasn’t .....next I have to try to get it to resync with my iPad ...but that’s for another day

The really good news is that they finally decided to tell you up front that this can take half an hour. Last update took closer to 45 minutes, and they said it would take 10. So that's something.
Currently 45 minutes into this so-called-up-to-30-minute update, and nothing has failed utterly so far. I'd tell you more but it's hard to type with my fingers crossed.
But yes. "bug fixes and improvements" is a little too breezy for me, too.
