Fitbit Update 7/16/19: This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.

Hi all! We've begun releasing Inspire & Inspire HR Firmware update (1.63.5) to customers!

This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. You can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED

We have 5 new clock faces you can try. Find them in the Fitbit Clock gallery. To change your clock face, see How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

This release includes bug fixes and improvements.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your tracker can be found here. Please be sure to have your Inspire or Inspire HR attached to your charger while updating.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Why is it not longer possible to wake up the clock with a double tap on the screen? That was really useful.

Mine still does

I can still do that, but it takes two or three sharp, hard taps instead of one or maybe two gentle taps like before. Seems like the feature is still there, but the sensitivity changed. I liked it the other way.

Still does what? Can you lock your Aspire?

Still responds to a tap to show the clock face. But not the same as before, as I explained in the post.

No idea what you mean by "lock" and are you asking about the Inspire HR?

I did the update the other day and today I did about 70 minutes of activity but it no longer auto recognized it as sport like it used to.  Is there a way to undo the update?

I got the update and now my inspire hr won’t sync with my iphone.

I have tried to do this update.  And now my Fitbit doesn’t work.  It only shows the time.  I’m trying to charge it now and it doesn’t even show that it is charging.  If this is a great update, it sure is oicky

Hopefully someone at fit bit is reading our frustrations and working on a fix!

@catester Does your screen responds consistently when you double tap it? Mine works half of the time, even when I go for a stronger tap on it. It is becoming anoying. I think this is a feature we should be able to fiddle with manually on the settings.

Best Answer

It doesn't! But it never was consistent. I'm finding that now it's as inconsistent as ever, but I have to tap harder and more to make it work when it DOES actually work!

ITA, it would be nice to be able to adjust the sensitivity. This feature requires a lot of work, but sometimes I find that I've accidentally told the Inspire HR that I'm having a walk, and ... I'm not. I'm just going to the kitchen! So high sensitivity there, extremely low sensitivity where high would be more helpful.

Totally! Trying to get out of exercise mode is almost impossible. I can’t get my stopwatch to reset either. I have only had the inspiration for 2weeks now before the update I loved it. Now I’m frustrated.

My Fitbit locked up when drying to do the update. I had to delete it and then add it as a new device. Then the update began and fully installed. Now I am good.

This is my 4th Fitbit but I have to say this is JUNK!!  I have always had the ONE and I loved that one and had no problems whatsoever until they died.  I have been trying to get someone to help me get my Fitbit Inspire back to working correctly since I updated in May.  Very frustrating!!  I got this so that I could receive notifications of phone and text messages, since the update I have rec'd NONE!  I have emailed several times.  Called and chatted a few times only to be cut off in the middle of the conversations without anyone contacting me back.  I would like to return this fitbit to receive a replacement since I have been trying unsuccessfully to get any help since May!!  Please advise!  I have done everything that they told me on the phone and in emails several times unsuccessfully!

Exactly!  I haven't had a correctly working Fitbit Inspire since the beginning of May!  I had only had it 2 weeks and no one seems to want to help!!
