Fitbit Update 7/16/19: This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.
Hi all! We've begun releasing Inspire & Inspire HR Firmware update (1.63.5) to customers!
This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. You can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
We have 5 new clock faces you can try. Find them in the Fitbit Clock gallery. To change your clock face, see How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
This release includes bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your tracker can be found here. Please be sure to have your Inspire or Inspire HR attached to your charger while updating.
If you run into any trouble updating your tracker, please try these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Installed the update 1.63.5 today. I think it took less than the half hour estimated. The only thing I have noticed is that I now have 15 clock faces. I installed one of the new ones easily and then decided to go back to Just Time. The Inspire HR seems to be counting steps fairly accurately. It does not add steps when I am in the car UNLESS I am tapping my hand vigorously to music. All seems to be working correctly. Whatever issues with updates seems to be resolved. Happy camper here!! I thought I loved the Alta HR and was so disappointed when it stopped working, but I actually like the Inspire HR better.

And I agree with someone's suggestion of large font Hours:Minutes:Seconds as an option too!
Please give us some grown up, useful, clock options - that are readable by older eyes (or at night without glasses).

It is great to see that so many of you have been able to update successfully. If your tracker isn't syncing, receiving notifications, or is unresponsive after the update, I recommend performing each of the step detailed in this article, including performing a restart. If these tips don't help, please let me know in the comments below.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank those of you who took the chance to provide feedback regarding the new clock faces which are available for Inspire & Inspire HR. I assure you your feedback has been forwarded to the appropriate teams as we work to further improve the Inspire & Inspire HR experience.
Thanks again for the feedback regarding this release. If you have additional questions, you know where to find me.

I finally received and did the firmware update this morning and followed all directions carefully...
Afterwards I went out for my morning bike ride on my usual 30 min course which typically recognizes and logs 30 min of bike exercise prior to the update...However, after the update this morning my auto exercise tracker is only showing 11 min of cycle exercise...
Anyone else having this issue?

Why do you waste your software engineers time with an update that added new silly animal clock faces which no one cares about! Why not heed lots of other people’s wishes that have been expressed since March to update the FONT SIZE and/or enable the ability to read screen in a horizontal manner just like it is on the Alta Series. Please SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THIS CHANGE!

Since the update my fitbit has stopped auto recognizing both bike riding and working out - both are still marked to be auto recognized. I've also noticed the problem that a lot of people are having about the tapping to wake up the face- that used to be easy but now it is difficult to wake it up.

I have the Inspire HR and keep the “raise to wake” feature off. Ever since I updated earlier today, tapping the screen to show the clock isn’t working. I either have to click the side button or tap several (10+) times, which seems to work more randomly than anything else. Tapping to wake is way less responsive than before.

Got notice on my phone about firmware update when I was having lunch at McDonald. Using the wifi, I download the firmware and the update took about 30 minutes as stated in the message. Very good estimate and the process went smoothly. Frankly I cannot see any improvement like others mentioned. I can only install 1 watch face, not 15 as someone said but that it OK with me. What I feel not so happy is that now I have to charge daily to make sure that my Inspire battery will not suddenly died when I am in the mids of exercising. Happened once and then I charge it and forgot to wear it the next day. 0 steps for 1 day, not a good day.

Yes - you've captured my sentiments exactly (except for the kitty face). I don't have any idea why there are so many animal faces when this is not the Ace tracker. I like the heavy stats clock just like you do and CANNOT believe there is no date! Wouldn't nearly everyone find the date way more useful on the clock face than the miles or calories? So disappointed and my have to go back to my Charge 2.

OK OK, I know how to change the watch face. Easy. Just miss it!

Edit I lied I hate this update, where did all my tiles go? Why can't I view sleep or water from my fitbit anymore?
I installed the update yesterday and my steps seem to be more accurate (no more counting driving as walking Yay!)
While I was hoping the new face would be the rocket ship from the ace, I do like the animal faces, I just wish they had the date on there too. Quick question though, are the animals supposed to move at all? The raccoon moved a bit when I installed it onto my inspire but it hasn't since. I just wanted to know if they did anything based on steps or movement or etc...

And thanks for the Raccoon watch face!

I updated my Inspire this morning. Took about 20 minutes. Oh look...new clock faces. OK, whatever. If you can do this is it possible to make the font on the timer bigger? Because if I can't see it, it's useless for my workouts which is a **ahem** shame.
On a high note, I notice I did not earn any steps on the drive to work this morning, so kudos for that!

I agree with @cademers and others about the clock layout/date.I prefer the layout of the stats heavy one, but I need the date and would gladly get rid of one of the other rows to make it fit. None the other clock faces are useable to me with the weird number layouts and the new ones with animal faces are dumb. Maybe one of those would be a cute option, but 5 is overkill. I keep wearing my normal watch just to have quick access to the time and date (and the inspire screen rarely turns on when I turn my wrist, which is annoying).

Hi everyone, I finally received the update and I'm quite happy with it actually. I agree with some users that we could do with a clockface that gives us a clearer time/date visual. The animal faces are redundant and a bit childish for adult inspire-users. I also agree that there should be at least one horizontal clockface option available. Other than that I also see a lot of comments about alleged "faults" in the software that aren't actual faults but can be altered by simply taking the time to exlore all available settings, both on the tracker and in the app. Most of the things that are bothering you guys can be set there. Good luck & enjoy!

@MichaelC71 which settings are you talking about? because I am missing screens on my fitbit and have searched the settings for the past two days to get them back and have tried every solution on the forum. So if you know of some secret menu I'm missing please tell me.

Seriously though - does a moderator have any feedback on why there is focus on these animal faces rather than a clock face that includes a horizontal time and date? Also, I would think having a customizable list of things to scroll through on the device like it used to be on older fitbit models would be more important than kitty cats as well. Such backwards steps in functionality are unacceptable when upgrading to a newer and more expensive device.
