Inspire & Inspire HR Firmware Update: Version 1.63.5

Fitbit Update 7/16/19: This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.

Hi all! We've begun releasing Inspire & Inspire HR Firmware update (1.63.5) to customers!

This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. You can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED

We have 5 new clock faces you can try. Find them in the Fitbit Clock gallery. To change your clock face, see How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

This release includes bug fixes and improvements.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your tracker can be found here. Please be sure to have your Inspire or Inspire HR attached to your charger while updating.

If you run into any trouble updating your tracker, please try these troubleshooting tips

Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Well.....once again I am posting....I thought I had the issue figured out.  Not the case.  Now the Inspire HR is NOT syncing with the iPhone.  I will be looking elsewhere for a new tracker.  done

My average resting heart rate is is up 10 points since the update and I notice it isnt counting my steps as accurately.   Help?

Yes!!!  I stopped using my Fitbit Inspire HR completely because of the step count problem. Logged in to find there's an update. Please tell me that the non-descriptive bugs mentioned in this update include the issue with step count accuracy.. I commute 4-6 times a day and I've had to manually log my drives each and every time. It's beyond annoying. I was also having to adjust my steps anytime that I did anything outside of actually walking or sitting still. Loading trash into the dumpster for example it logged as me biking.... waiting for the update to finish and I will try wearing it again. Never thought I'd be disappointed by a Fitbit after loving my last one.

The same here, I saw the update today. I am curious how the step count is working for you now? Is it better?

Since update I cannot sync and the screen is not visible. Unable to do anything

I really don’t like how this update looks like on my app! Is there any possibility to go back to the old view? Please help, I start hating my device....

Since this update, my wife's Inspire HR display is much less willing to light up when tapped.  I see here whacking away at it all the time to get it to illuminate and it was not like that before the update.

I am a patient woman at 73, but am pissed beyond belief with the new "improvement" that took over my fitbit Friday am.

I walk about 3 miles, roughly 11k steps most days with my dog.  I liked seeing my HR in the pm readout to gauge what is going on with my heart rate. I also liked having my wt. in pounds not kg and my miles in miles, not km.  I have a relatively new inspire HR which shows, after tapping only, a lot of garbage for me, but likely helpful to others.  I no longer get text msgs alerts. An hour with a phone consult yesterday and hours both on my laptop and on my iPhone have failed to resolve any of these issues.

I am unable to "manage items" in setting, only delete them. I am limited to distance, active minutes, steps and calories.

Obviously, I would like as much direction as you can offer to be friends with my fitbit again.

Regards,

When is the new update? This update made my inspire worst, it stopped Connected GPS tracking, when you start running or biking, it disconnect frequently, and suddenly you will notice your bike is not being sync! really frustrating. Even Running now can't map my run, and on all occasion my phone is just on my waist bag. Due to this frustration, I bought Garmin which I didn't experience this issue, and planning to give the HR to my wife, but I hope issue is fixed asap first. Hope you can fix this!

Just bought Inspire HR Wednesday. Firmware updated to 1.63.5 during setup.  Battery life less than 10 hours. Attempted reset per directions, after pushing button for 5 seconds and releasing while connected to charger and nothing happens.  Should this hold this still happen after this firmware update?

Thanks for the response- more wondering why the reset procedure does not appear to work. Is this a result of the update? Nothing happens after pushing and releasing the button. Per directions it’s supposed to make a smile and vibrate.

When I restart my Fitbit I have it plugged in and press and hold the button until the smiley face appears - sometimes it takes longer than other times.  I don't think mine vibrates but if I wait long enough holding in the button the smiley face will appear at which point I let go of the button.

That was July. Now, it's Aug. 21. Today, it took multiple tries to get the sync to work, and that's become the norm.

Hey there @Krzy4dzny. In order to properly restart your device, following the steps below:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

Your tracker should now work normally. If your tracker still doesn't work after a restart, contact Customer Support.

Thanks for your help @OneblackdoodleWoman Wink

Hello @FantasticMe. While reading your post I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance. For syncing difficulties, follow the troubleshooting steps provided at: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Let me know if there's anything else I may do to assist you.
