Inspire hr delay on heartrate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My inspire is extremely inaccurate when I'm hiking.  It seems to register my heartrate several minutes late.  When I'm going up a hill and know my heart is pounding, I might get 104, and then quite a while later when I seem to be calmer it will be 130.  How do I get it to catch up so that it is useful for setting my pace?

A warm welcome to the Community @slaaten. Sorry for the delayed reply.

I appreciate the details mentioned. It's pretty weird that your heart rate isn't catching up with your exercises, I would like you to restart your Inspire HR and then follow these tips to improve your heart rate information

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

Thanks for your reply.  I have tried to restart my fitbit, but it doesn't act like the instructions say.  The only time I get a smile is when it is fully charged.  Pushing the button for 5 seconds doesn't seem to do anything.  However after trying to restart many times, I just put on my old alta hr and went for a walk with both on to compare.  Just resting or a slow walk they are close, but going up hills they can often vary by 20 or more beats per minute.  I know the old one was not working well (why I got a new one), but I still can't trust the new Inspire. Also, the Inspire jumped from 120 to 142 in a second while I was stopped watching it.  I also check where my heartrate should be by comparing it to my husband's (who has an Apple watch).  It does seem that it takes a long time to figure out that my heart is racing.  IMG_2694.JPGIMG_2696.JPG2 seconds later2 seconds laterAny suggestions?

Silvia,  Thank you for your help, have your gotten any answers yet?  Yesterday it was not tracking my heartrate correctly at all.  It said 104 when I had to be near 130+.  I measured it against a stop watch and me counting and it is way off.  Is there a possibility that I have a defective fitbit and need to have it replaced?

Thanks,

Susan

Not yet. My complaint has been moved up the line and they keep telling me
it's fine and that really is where my heartrate is. I've taken my pulse
and know it can be 30 beats per minute off. After their last email I'm
getting frustrated. I'm still trying to get help. Good luck!

to be clear - and it's odd that moderator doesn't acknowledge this - all fitbits i've ever met and every person i've ever talked to says there is a significant delay in displaying heart rate.  It's just a thing.  My in-exercise heart rate always registers after I'm done and sitting.  Counting out my pulse with my finger will show it's at least 30-40 beats less than being displayed on the watch. What it's showing was the exercise from a minute, or two, ago.  Just a fitbit thing.

Thank you for your response. The moderator asked me to stop responding
since I was talking to the tech team to get things fixed. Bottom line was
that this is how they work, so tough beans. I ended up getting an Apple
watch and only using my fitbit to track my sleep. Expensive solution, but
it works. Even the Apple watch at times has issues, but it is clearly more
accurate than the fitbit was. Thanks for your input.
