Inspire hr steps inaccurate

Telling me I've done like 30 steps just sitting on bed changing clothes this AM. What can I do to stop this? Bought it hoping it would be good for counting steps but now done 300 steps from tiny flat bedroom to bathroom.

I also only got my Inspire HR yesterday. placed on wrist at 5pm. Noticed count was higher than realistic. Drove 36km home and steps had increased from 695 to 2500.  After checking all my setting noticed step length was only 0.8cm i/o 80cm. Cannot comfirm resolved until I drive home tonight.
