Inspire isn't automatically logging swim

I have just don an hours swim and it didn’t log automatically thro my Fitbit I have had to add it manually what am I missing

Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums @LesP214. Sorry for the late response, due to recent events affecting our operations, we're taking longer to respond.

 

I'll be glad to give you a hand with the information that you need to use your Fitbit Inspire for swimming activities. Thank you for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried before contacting us. 

 

As you may know, your Fitbit Inspire automatically tracks your swim duration and pool lengths completed. SmartTrack automatically recognizes and records high-movement activities at least 15 minutes long. I'd suggest to confirm the amount of time required for the activity to be recorded.

It can be changed on your Fitbit App:
  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history.
  2. Tap the gear icon 
  3. Tap an exercise and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.
  4. Sync your Fitbit Inspire

 

Your Fitbit Inspire can record your swims even if you were a novice swimmer, meaning you can swim about 6 to 12 lengths of the pool without stopping to rest. As your swimming ability improves, you’ll likely notice fewer inconsistencies in your data.

 

Please note that inconsistencies in your swim data may be caused by any of the following:

  • You stopped to rest multiple times or in the middle of the pool
  • You stopped to rest for longer than 60 seconds after completing a pool length
  • You changed your stroke type midway through a length
  • You swam with a kickboard or without using your arms
  • You swam less than the minimum duration needed for your swim to be automatically recognized

Please note that you can also track your swim by going to the Exercise app on your Inspire > Swim.

 

In case this is not working, please perform a restart with the steps suggested here: How do I restart my Fitbit device? If that doesn't work, we might have to check with our support team.
