Inspire not collecting swimming data

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just purchased an Inspire a few days ago.  On the first day, I collected data while I was at the water park and then when I got home and swam my laps. After that the only data collected haa been steps and hours of sleep.  I have had to input my workouts on the treadmill and my swimming of laps. It remains at 0 minutes active until I enter my swimming or workouts manually.

This has been very disappointing.

Nice to see you again @Dilwolfe, thanks for sharing this information with us and for manually logging your swimming workouts.

I'm glad to see that you're using the Fitbit Inspire to improve your workouts. I'd like to confirm with you if you're using the Inspire or the Inspire HR, since Fitbit Inspire doesn't have the swim tracking option. You can read more about the different features of Fitbit devices here. Sorry you feel that way about your missing data, I'll do my best to help you out with this.

Now, about the previous swim information that you've gotten in your Fitbit Dashboard, it might come from a different Fitbit device. Have you had any other Fitbit model linked to your account recently?

Keep me posted on the resolution.

I am using an Inspire, but it was my impression from the manual and information I read that it would be able to collect activity data, but it doea not recognize walking, swimming ot any type of activity during the day, other tjan stepa and sleep. I have to input everything manually, i.e., treadmill or swimming. That is not what I was led,to believe when I made my purchase.

Thanks for getting back @Dilwolfe! I understand where you're coming from, but I'd like to clarify that your Fitbit Inspire has the SmartTrack feature which automatically recognizes workouts or activities where there is continuous, movement such as treadmill walking/running (as long as your arms are in motion and not holding on to the handles).

This workouts include:

  • Walking
  • Running
  • Outdoor Biking
  • Elliptical
  • Sport -- recognizes high-movement sports like tennis, basketball, soccer and others.
  • Aerobic Workout -- recognizes aerobic activities that involve continuous movement, like Zumba, cardio-kickboxing and other dance classes.

In my previous experience on a treadmill, SmartTrack has accurately picked up all of my walks and runs. If you'd like to learn more about SmartTrack, I recommend checking out our SmartTrack FAQs page to make sure your Inspire is working properly.

I'll be around in case that you have more questions.
