Inspire not measuring distance correctly

Hi - I have been using my new Inspire for a few weeks now but it is not measuring distance accurately.  The number of steps are correct and I have changed my stride length in settings but it still appears to be using a default stride length to calculate distance (67.1 cm regardless of what I actually put in the stride length)

Any ideas?

Are you taking into account the different stride lengths for walking and running?

Yes - I have set them both to the same length to test it out

Having the exact same problem. Moved from a Zip where distance was calculated correctly. Since I started using the Inspire, distance seems to be using a stride length of 67.1 cms.

I’ve asked Fitbit for a solution

I have just managed to fix it - I’m not sure if I needed to do all of this but what I did was:

- Removed the Inspire from the Fitbit app, removed it from my Bluetooth list and deleted the app

- Reloaded the app, logged back in and checked my stride length was set up correctly

- Reset the Inspire

- Went through the whole set up process again with Inspire

This seems to have solved it for me - hope it might work for you!

If you uninstall the app and reset fo you lose your history?

Comparing Fitbit distances with mapmywalk, a 3 mile walk only registers on Fitbit as just over 2.

Once you have done a sync, all your data is stored in the Fitbit database by your account/email.  As long as you log into the same account, nothing is going to disturb your historical data.
