Inspire not recording stairs

I take the stairs almost every day.  Fitbit has always recorded 0

This model cannot detect changes in elevation.  Hence, it doesn't track stairs. You need the next model up in price for that feature.

I asked which model would best replace my Fitbit one and was advised the inspire range, but am disappointed that it does not count flights of stairs - something that does motivate me to use them more! - but will now be returning the inspire and going back to my Fitbit one as I do not want a watch type devise and none of the other models are wearable.
