Inspire's resting heart rate readings are too low

My resting heart rate is around 55bpm and when I'm asleep it drops even lower. I'm not a terribly fit person - in fact I'm actually in poor shape, I just have a surprisingly good heart. But despite my Fitbit collating inordinate amounts of data about my resting heart rate 24/7, it seems to think I'm asleep when I'm not.

I could be driving the car, walking to work, sitting at my desk and it will record me as being in light sleep. Unless I am properly exerting myself and getting my heart rate up, it just thinks I'm alseep?! What's the point in collating that data if it doesn't amend it's baseline for what it has established as my normal resting heart rate? The primary function for owning the Inspire HR is entirely redundant for me. I can't monitor my sleep or my HR and I have PTSD so it's incredibly important for me.

Hi @Eleanormary, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your heart rate is not being tracked accurately and that makes your Fitbit Inspire thinks you are asleep. I totally understand how you feel about this and I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to restart your Inspire as described in this help article. After this, check out this help page, which explains how your Fitbit device tracks your heart rate. Finally, monitor your Fitbit Inspire for the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Hi @JuanJoFitbit  - sorry for the delay, I didn't get a notification that you'd replied. It hasn't worked and is still recording ridiculous sleeping patterns for me. I took a screen shot of the previous night but cant see a way to upload here. I was in bed 00:00-10:00 the other night with several 20 minute periods of broken sleep in between that weren't recorded properly - but I know I was awake as I was out of bed. My Fitbit thinks I was asleep until 13:00. I don't understand how it's possible, that it can record steps but think I'm asleep simultaneously?!
