Inspire side button and touch screen no longer working

Woke up to my silent alarm and couldn’t turn it off because my side button wasn’t working. Eventually it stopped. Then I realized that I couldn’t turn the screen on or off using the side button. It only works with movement to look at the face. If I hold down the button, it will vibrate, but the screen will not change from clock and steps to the battery life. The touch screen will not work at all. When I get the movement notification, it only vibrates. Nothing shows up on my screen. It just stays black. I can’t find any answers in troubleshooting or while scrolling thru the forum. I tried to live chat, and that was an absolute joke. It closed out on me while I was trying to type my problem out and told me I was done and asked me to do a survey. When I tried again, I was chatting for a minute and after they asked for my email, it closed out again telling me I was done. Extremely frustrating! I haven’t been happy with Fitbit at all so far and I’ve only had it since January 24th. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi @Branles That sounds pretty frustrating! Try restarting the tracker several times and see if that fixes it. If it doesnt you will have to go back to Support Im afraid. Maybe try a different method to contact them?

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll try that. If I restart it, will I lose what steps I have for the day so far?

No, a restart wont lose you your steps, but you have already tried it! So glad it worked 👍

Plug in your Fitbit to charge it. Hold the side button down for 5 seconds (or till it vibrates). I was told to try that a few times and I would see a smiley face when it resets. I did it over and over again and never saw a smiley till I removed it from the charger. I hope it works for you.
