Had for less than a month and the small wristband broke where it attaches to the fit bit. Saw other complaints.  Seems like a manufacture defect.  Would like to get a replacement.

I am having the same problem. The small plastic which connects the band got broken. It is completely unusable. I have had my tracker only for 6 months now; definitely sounds like a bad design or batch based on the number of complaints. How do I file a case for replacement?

Hello @JuanJoFitbit ,

I have the same problem with the plastic part that attaches to the top wrist band of my Inspire...it broke!  It is quite disappointing that this has happened. Who should I contact regarding this issue? I would like to send an image of my defective Fitbit Inspire and request for a replacement as I should not have to purchase a new Fitbit, yearly.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My wife's fitbit inspire hr has the same problem.  The plastic tab at the top right of the device face snapped and will no longer hold the band in place, making the device useless.  I tried to repair it using superglue, but there is not enough material in the area of the break to allow an effective repair.

Hoping that fitbit has a solution.  She really enjoys using the device and has been wearing it constantly.

I've had this same problem and reported it to Fitbit on 03/09/20.  I've sent 2 more requests since then and have not heard back from them.  I guess the recent events have affected their response times.  I'm going to be patient and was able to get my Fitbit Charge 2 out of retirement.  Fitbit has always been responsive to issues so I'm confident they will respond when they are able.

This happened to my daughters too! Have been trying to find a replacement casing, but couldn’t find anything. Stumbled across this thread! Who do I contact for help?

Google Fitbit and it will bring up Get Support - Fitbit Help. Call the
number 1 (877) 623-4997. Your next option is to click on contact support
and you can send an email. The second option has worked for me.

I still haven't gotten a response since 03/13/20, but I did send another
email to them today (so thank you for the reminder!). Hopefully, when
things get to a new normal, they will be more responsive.

Go to help.fitbit.com

Click the “Get Support” button on the lower right of the page.

You then get options to call or message or chat with support. I used Live Chat. I got a quick response, answered there questions and they agreed to send me a new Fitbit device (the case and display only, no new bands).

We had registered the device and they said it was still under warranty. Not sure how they handle a request out of warranty or even what the warranty is. It our device was less than one year old.

Open a chat and see what they can do for you. Good luck with it.

The same issue happened to mine.  The device has been used for about four months.  The plastic broke where the pin for the wrist band fits in.  How do we get a replacement?

Best Answer
Contact customer service at https://help.fitbit.com/. Word of advice - they haven’t answered my emails since March 9th. They did asign a case number so I expect once all this craziness is over they will replace my Fitbit. Keep after them! I am.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try! After seeing it is an issue for multiple people I hope they are able to replace it.  Only being able to use a watch for a few months is not acceptable.

I received a response from FitBit support. I tweeted @fitbitsupport and my replacement is on its way. Hope this works for you.

I did the live chat option and they were able to look up the watch and it is still under warranty.   Iam receiving a replacement as well!

I’m glad it worked out for you too. The Chat option seems to be the best method to communicate with them.

I just hope that the replacement lasts longer than the original. I’m not sure that it’s built any stronger, but hoping so.

I’ve had it two weeks and woke up to it broken. Is this going to be an ongoing issue?

Unfortunately, I think it will be an ongoing problem based on an inadequate design. The replacement did not look any stronger than the original. Hopefully, they’re using some upgraded material or design, but that’s not evident from examining the thing.

Hi!

I took mine back and they replaced the watch right away. I bought it at Best Buy. The new one hasn’t fallen apart so far, but it seems like it’s a common flaw with the watch.

Peace & Love,
Lei

Hello.  I have the same problem with my Fitbit Inspire purchased in October 2019.  The plastic broke off where the strap connects to the Fitbit.  It’s is not a good design. Can someone please contact me to arrange a replacement like the other Fitbit owners on this forum.
