Inspire stopped tracking my sleep data

My Inspire will not record sleep properly since update a week ago. Can I remove update? I  use it for sleep data due to chronic illness. Any suggestions?

Hi there, @SleeplessinSA. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Inspire.

As a first approach, I'd recommend trying the following steps to make sure your heart rate is working as sleep stages are based on heart rate readings:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your watch, from the main screen of your watch, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Fitbit device. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Fitbit device's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your watch once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch once again.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Also, for more detailed information, see What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?

In addition, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Thank you @MarreFitbit. I had already tried most of those things, so I took
it back to factory settings this morning and hopefully it will work
tonight. Thank you for your suggestions.

It seems to be working so far since I reset it, will probably need to wait
a week or so to see if it has worked properly. Thanks again for your help.

Is the factory setting reboot still working for you?  I have been struggling with sleep setting consistency for months now with no solution.  Wondering if this has helped and if you lost all of your data when resetting?  Thank you!!

I did lose all my data and it still is missing parts of my sleep. Some days
it is perfect and other days it's not.

Same with me . I lost the data but still no luck ..even the heart beat is showing very high .I also did what ever recommended in community but not luck . Heart rate it's showing while resting us 165 and above . And it's continuous activity mode. Even though not doing any activity.  I tried negating activity by entering driving data. Have to keep doing it.. so it seems that something is completely wrong with my Inspire HR.  I had spoken to a chat agent he told me that heart rate algorithm has changed ...hope  I get some help with my Inspire HR  Fitbit.
