Inspire will not charge or reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just recevied my new Inspire and got it all set up, however it won't charge or reset. That tells me it isn't connecting to the charging port correctly, but I don't see how that is the case. I have plugged the charging cord into three different computers, as well as a couple different charging blocks, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, how did you resolve it???

@rhinoman7 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

I will assist you with your Inspire that isn't charging. Try cleaning the contacts using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours regardless of what you see on the screen.

Let me know how it goes.

Well, I cleaned the contacts with a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol, and then left the fitbit on the charger for 4 hours. Nothing!!!! Now the battery is completely drained and the fitbit won't even power up at all. Is it possible that the charging cord is defective???

Have been using my Inspire HD for 20 days and worked fine til day 21.  Screen went black, will not react to swiping the face, it's charged and will not register when plugged into computer.  While holding it my hand it vibrates about every 20 seconds.

Help, please. What's wrong?

I’m having the exact same problem. I’ve had my Inspire for one month. It died Monday and has not taken a charge. I’ve tried multiple cleaned and reset but just get the smiley face and nothing but the vibration described by others here. Glad to know I’m not alone but extremely frustrated as this device is pretty much brand new. It was great until yesterday!

Having the same issue. This is the first time I let the fitbit deplete its battery entirely, and now will not charge or respond. Plugging it in allows me to "reset" it, where it registers with a smiley face on the display and then vibrates every ~20 seconds with no other reaction. I preordered it and started using it on release day.

My app says there's an update available but it will not sync to update, just asks if my device is powered on no matter how long I leave it plugged in to any power source or reset it.

Exact same problem here. No recharging, no rebooting, vibrating every 20 seconds.

I have read through all the posts regarding the new firmware update (~1.60...).  The problem is the phone does not see the Fitbit Inspire HR anymore via Bluetooth, therefore no ability to update the firmware.  The unit temporarily displays a smiley face on some reset attempts, but not all.  None seem to actually resest the unit. Seem like I am stuck.  Guess I will search for a hard reset from a PC option now...

I have the same problem how do you fix it

That is the million dollar question!!!

Everyone talks about being able to reset their device, but in order to be able to reset, it has to be connected to the charger. Since mine won't seem to connect to the charger, I can't even do a reset! My battery is now completely depleted, no vibrating, no nothing!!! Very frustrating!!!

I just got my Fitbit inspire HR in the mail. It was fine until I did the update that was showing. It now is powered off and won’t charge. I can’t get it to charge anywhere. Now what?

I am returning mine to the store from which I purchased it. I have only had mine for a little over three weeks so they will exchange it for a new one.

Sadly, I have returned my Inspire. I received a refund and am still deciding if I will invest in another Fitbit based on this experience. Wishing all of you with this issue the best!

I have cleaned my inspire HR, I have left it charging over two different nights and for several hours each day and it will show nothing on the screen and the phone cannot find it!  I have had it for about 3.5 weeks now with no issue until Saturday, and I have not updated it yet. I really don’t want to have to take it back but seeing that everyone with the same problem is not getting anywhere with it I’m afraid I may have to!  Please advise if they have a fix for this???

My husband returned mine back to the store got a replacement but got the Inspire instead of the Inspire HR. We got a 3 year warranty from the store too with this one. Just started using it today so we shall see how it goes
