Inspire with clip

Hi all - I'm intrigued by the Inspire and wanted to check in to see if anyone has used it as a clip-on yet.  I currently have a Charge 3, but I tend to get some skin irritation on my wrist where the band is (I'm an elementary school band teacher, and wash my hands so many times during the day, I'm thinking water gets trapped under there.)  I think the Inspire would be great, because if I started getting some wrist irritation, I'd still be able to wear it with the clip and wouldn't miss any time tracking.  Any feedback from someone with the Inspire, and not the Inspire HR, would be great!

Hi @benne070. I just got the non-hr version of the Inspire Tuesday. So far, I really like it! I’ve been experimenting, attaching it to a pocket in my purse, to my shoe and in my bra. It seems to be capturing all the information. When you order the Inspire, it comes with a band. You have to order the clip separately. But this allows you to easily switch between band and clip. I splurged and ordered this pretty band for myself.

@SunsetRunner , I love that band!  So pretty!

I think in the clip version, Fitbit recommends wearing close your core (like with the One) so on your hip, waist, pocket, or bra, rather than arm or foot.

Fitbit have released an updated help file for this which confirms @Julia_G 's comment. It says:

"Wear Inspire on or close to your body with the screen facing outward. Secure the clip tightly to a shirt pocket, bra, pants pocket, belt, or waistband. Try out a few different locations to see what's most comfortable and secure for you.

If you experience skin irritation when wearing Inspire on your bra or waistband, clip it to an external piece of clothing instead, such as your belt or pocket."

So, does anyone have a link to purchase a clip for the HR version?  Like others, I don't want to wear it on my wrist all the time and find a clip a great option.  I used to use this method with the Alta HR.

TIA

They don't make a clip for the HR version, only the standard, non-HR, version.

Hi @JoeGV. I did the same with the Alta HR. The Inspire and the Inspire HR are slightly different sizes so the clip for the Inspire is not designed to fit both. When I have a device that will not fit in a Fitbit designated clip, I found an ankle band like this to be helpful. You may, too.

Best Answer

Hi, @JoeGV , the clip for the Inspire, which is available from the Fitbit store, is meant only for the non HR version.

Since the Inspire HR is just slightly deeper than the regular version, it may not fit perfectly, and in that case my understanding is that it could be in danger of falling out.  If you used the clip for the Inspire HR, and it did fall out, then you would definitely not be covered by the Fitbit limited warranty.

I have checked Amazon, but so far have not seen any third party clips for the Inspire HR, as it is quite a new device, but I would expect that some companies might be offering this in the future.

If you do find one, and try it out, be sure to let the Community how it goes.

Thanks for mentioning that the Hr and Base are different sizes.  I was curious as to that since I was thinking of getting the clip for the non-HR.  It should be obvious that the HR won't work with a clip, but there are plenty of times when I find it worthwhile to give up that feature.  Here's hoping for an option.

Best Answer

Yup, I gave up the HR feature for the convenience of the clip, and I like that the Inspire doesn't stick out as much from my wrist as the HR version would. So far I'm quite pleased with the Inspire!

I just got my and can't get the clip to even hook

Hi Joe - I bought the clip for the Inspire HR but I haven’t started wearing it yet.

EEweca 2-Pack Clip for Fitbit Inspire or Inspire HR Holder Accessory, Black+Sangria. I bought it from Amazon. It cost $7.99 for two clips. Not bad!
