Inspire won't sync with Samsung J3

My Inspire paired with my Samsung J3 just fine, but wouldn't sync.  I've given up, uninstalled, and am syncing to a less convenient device.

Let's figure this out....... Can you go under Bluetooth in your phone and see if the device is at least listed in the connected devices? If not, does your tracker show up as a device that can be paired?

What device are you using to Sync now?

Yes, it is listed as a paired device. I'm using my Surface tablet currently, but would much rather sync with my phone.

Ah okay, make sure both devices don't detect the same watch.......

Then remove the Inspire from your account on the Fitbit App and remove it from the list of devices. I  think its called Forget.

Then turn off the tablet. Uninstall the Fitbit App on your phone, restart the phone, then reinstall the app.

With the watch on the charger hold down the button on the left for 5 or 6 seconds and the device reboots.

Take it off the charger and start the device setup.

You should be able to install the device after that.

Seems to me that'll put me right back where I started. I attempted pairing with the Samsung; it paired but wouldn't sync. In fact it constantly attempted to sync, draining the tracker battery and locking up the app. So I deleted, and only then switched to the tablet.

Just a thought does your Galaxy J3 have an Android OS Update that is pushed out by either Samsung or your cell carrier? Sometimes these major Android OS updates can help with the Fitbit app compatibility wise, or break them.
