I want to purchase the new Fitbit Inspire HR, I have previously had the Alta HR.  Are the bands the same for both of these devices?  Thanks

Hi @lmhamm Welcome to the forum. Alta HR band will not fit on your new Inspire. Inspire and Inspire HR have interchangeable band, but they are not compatible with older Fitbits. I just started wearing an Inspire and love it. I hope you enjoy yours too. Best of luck on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.

What are the dimensions of the tracker itself (LxWxD) without the band?

I'm trying to compare the size of the Inspire to my Alta.

Hi @rveez I'm having a hard time finding the official measurements, but in comparing it to my Alta, it's is the same length and a tiny bit wider, but sits flatter on the wrist.

@rveez @lmhamm  Great to see you on the forums!

Just wanted to confirm that the Alta HR bands are not compatible with Inspire or Inspire HR.

@rveez Great question. I will follow up with our team to see if we can get those measurements for you. Though I can say from experience that the pebble is about as wide as Alta and it feels a lot less bulky on the wrist. I'll let ya know if I can get the exact dimensions from our team.

@MarciM Thanks so much for the assistance!

Looking forward to hearing feedback on Inspire. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

@MarciMAre the Inspire and the InspireHR the same size? The description says the clip only works with the Inspire, and not the InspireHR. I understand that you can't measure heart rate on the clip, but what I want is a device to wear on my wrist and measure HR when working out, and then to keep in a clip the rest of the time.

Also, the specs don't say anything about either Inspire measuring flights of stairs. Does it? If it really doesn't, that's a big reason not to buy it for me.

@SunsetRunner The Inspire and Inspire HR do not count floors/stairs.  This is to keep it slim.

The clip only works on the Inspire, as the heart rate monitor on the Inspire HR makes it a little too big for the clip.  Maybe in the future there will be third-party clips that will fit the Inspire HR.

@rveez and anyone who is interested, my product team has gotten back to me with the pebble specs for Inspire HR:

  • Width: 16.2mm

  • Length: 37mm

  • Height (wrist to top of device): 12.6mm

@MarciM I can confirm that the Inspire HR is about 1mm taller than the Inspire base model, due to the HR monitor. Width and length are the same.

@Heather-S Thanks for the help!

Hi @rveez. I took pictures of my Alta HR and Inspire (non HR) together for you.

yes, inspire or inspire are same bands.  but that be said very hard to change the band.  took me 45 min to change min. I had the alta hr before and took a couple seconds but the design on this is not great.  I advise you to 1. be sure you don't loose the little (I do mean tiny) metal part that locks it in place as you will need that on any other bands you get. 2. don't do this if you are in a hurrry as it is a slow process, well worth it but slow process!!!

@Mahekan - If you are asking whether the sangria band would look good with the black Inspire HR, then my answer is yes. I believe they would look very nice together.
