Is it possible to determine how many steps it would take to walk a 5K

Sure, if you can do some arithmetic, or can ask google or Alexa or such.  Check what your stride length is.  Then divide 5000 meters by that.  In case stride length is not in metric, 5000 meters = 196,800 inches.

 

For instance, if your stride length is 25 inches,

196,800/26 = 7872 steps per 5K.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
