Itchy wrist from the Inspire HR band

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since getting my Inspire HR earlier this year, my wrist has been periodically itchy from the band.  I previously had the Flex, Charge HR, & Alta HR and had no problems with the bands.  This band has been affecting my wrist since the beginning.  The tattoo is 8 years old so has nothing to do with what is happening now.  Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes I had a similar reaction, that lasted for a couple of weeks. I happened to have a tube of clobetasol propionate cream leftover from a bout of poison ivy a few months ago and a few days of applying the cream cleared up my wrist. That was a couple of weeks ago and it has not (yet) shown any sign of renewed irritation.

In case something got on the band I'd try cleaning it and rinsing well.

I’ve used a cream (Triamcinolone Acetonide) that helps with the itch but it comes back again.  I’ve cleaned the band several times with both soap/water & rubbing alcohol.  I’ve never had anything like this before.

Sounds like you might have a sensitivity or allergy to the band material or the metal of the buckle. That was my fear when I first got irritation soon after getting it, I was surprised the cream I had seems to have fully resolved it. I had metal glasses that irritated the skin behind my ears once, a kludgey fix for that was plastic coating around the metal, though they were under warranty so I was also able to have them replaced with non metallic. If it is just the metal bit I wonder if there is anything you could coat the metal bit with to help stop the irritation.

Same issue here, iv swapped wrists a few time, did the cleaning and wipes, have to say it's calming down after a months.

I’ve switched wrists, too, but shortly after putting it back on my left wrist (non-dominant), the eruptions occur.  I’m thinking of getting the leather band and see if that helps.

I've also had / have this problem with an itchy rash that occurs on the wrist I am wearing my watch on. It irritates me that much I take off my watch and then don't use it for days.

Has the leather strap helped you?

Jeany,

Yes, the leather band helped. I could not wear the band that came with the Fitbit because of the itching. That device finally stopped working for me and I now have a Charge 4. No problem with this band!
