Just got mine yesterday!

I am the proud new owner of a lilac Inspire HR. At about 8pm, I tried setting it up and my iPhone app barfed by saying "You can only update once the band is at 50% charge or more." Okay, so I did. It took about an hour or so to charge as it was at 25% initially. So from 9pm to 8am, it went from 100% to 92%. Cool. I'm at 90% now and it's 4 hours later. If it goes down 14% each day, I'm golden because I can get 7 days usage like my Alta, given my settings. Only time will tell if this is possible...

I'm really liking the watch face selections. Not only can I have a classic looking watch face, but put fun cartoony ones up, too. Would it be too forward to ask for a way to make custom-designed ones so I can make my own Mickey Mouse watch?

My out of the box gripes so far... Oh, no, the band reminds me of the Withings Pulse HR! I have a Withings scale, which is totally awesome, so I thought the Pulse HR would be the same, but the big he-man wrist strap looked stupid on my small wrist. This Inspire HR band looks like it got it's inspiration from the Pulse HR. Bleagh. I liked the sleeker, more narrow, more firm look of the Alta HR bracelet-like band. Can I buy something like that that's as narrow as the Alta band via third party? Why use that stupid pin-lock mechanism like the Pulse HR? I liked the old Alta band fastening mechanism. Kudos to the two band sizes. Withings are idiots for not doing the same.

Also, the charging cable is the dumbest thing ever. Why make it so short? When I try to rest it on my desk, it bumps into something and comes off, interrupting the charge. The slightest bump separates the band from the charger. I had to check and reconnect the charger several times over the course of the hour. I'm pretty sure disconnecting and reconnecting the charger so many times isn't good for the battery. Looks like I'll have to invest in a dock or a longer cable. Bleaggh.

Fix these two things and there will be a lot less complaints, I'm sure.

It's almost 7pm and I've got 87%. Almost 22 hours. Not too bad. I've been playing with loading watch faces during this time.

I turned off reminders to move because I don't need it. I believe I turned GPS on. I have notifications on except for calendar events. I have all-day sync on.

Maybe the update fixed everything! 🙂

It is almost 1:30am... approx 28.5 hours later and the charge says 84%. Cool!

Maybe I don't walk as much as some of you? I walked 9,770 steps yesterday, so I would say the battery depletion rate is pretty good so far. Maybe it's because I turned off my calendar notifications?

I really hope the battery lasts as long as my Alta battery!

Hi,

Seeing as your a newbie have you understood how to work the calorie burnt on the watch? This is the first time I have used any tracker watch so am lost....

I'm a newbie to the Inspire, but not fitbit. I've owned an Alta HR prior to my Inspire for about a year. I believe the calories get counted automatically with everything else. There is a manual for the Inspire that's pretty good reading. It will answer all of your questions.

Day 3 and I'm down to 60% with 5 hours to go before I hit the 72 hour mark. So between yesterday and today the battery depleted a little faster than usual. Hopefully, just 2% more when 9pm hits to continue the trend of 14% battery depletion per day.

I am at 46% closing in on day 4 of owning this awesome tracker band. So far, it's still very consistent at about 14% battery usage per day. I'm really hoping it will last 7 days before I charge it again, so that I can say that this is basically equivalent in battery power to my old Alta HR that it's replacing.

Closing in on day 5 (in < 3 hours) and it is at 24%. Uh, oh, it should've been at 30% today so I don't know what happened to make it lose that extra battery power.

I ordered a new band, the Fitbit Inspire HR Sport Band - Dykeiss Soft Silicone Replacement Accessory Women Men Breathable Wristband Strap, Compatible for Fitbit Inspire HR Fitness Tracker in purple. It has a nice look to it and is 1mm narrower and more feminine looking than the standard lilac band that came with my fitbit.I like that the pin mechanism stays in the band like the one that came with fitbit. I have another band that has pins that don't anchor themselves in the band so the pins can easily slide out and get lost.

It is now day 6 with about 11 hours to go and my battery is at 8%. I don't know what has happened to cause this temporary surge of extra battery power in the last day and a half. I'm pretty confident that my battery will last until 9pm today (I'm measuring every 24-hour period from 9pm to 9pm the next day), but since I'm sitting here at my desk not moving I figure I'll just charge my band.

So... 6 days on a full battery charge is not bad... and the charging time seems much faster than my old Alta HR. I would've preferred 7 days, so I could recharge my band every week at the same time. I've been using the Valerie clock face 99% of the time. I like the look of this watch face because it gives the band a very elegant look. I like my DYKEISS sport band better than the band that came with my fitbit. I think perhaps fitbit should seriously consider adopting the DYKEISS band into their accessories lineup. The purple/pink color combo matches nicely with the lilac version's coloring and display coloring. Looks are very important in something you are going to wear on a daily basis.

This is where I'm going to rant against Withings again. I owned a Pulse HR for three weeks hoping that it would be the holy grail, but it wasn't. It was a piece of sh*t (sorry for my German). The band was so long it made it look like I was a little kid wearing an oversized watch with a band that was too long for its own good. I just bought a BPM connect device for blood pressure checking and I love the device, but I hate the fact that it was made for a big-armed person. The cuff is so long it completely covers the device's readout.

What made the Pulse HR so stupid is the fact that it doesn't sync to my phone automatically. I call up the Withings app and it takes a while before a sync happens... like an ungodly long time... 20 seconds... a minute?! Two minutes?!!!!!!! fitbit devices have always been instantaneous (or near instantaneous) in their sync updates. If you are in the health monitoring industry, your customers expect up to the second sync updates. The Pulse HR seems to be made for someone who might be more nonchalant about his/her health. "Oh, well... I'll check my steps and compare them to yesterday's maybe next Tuesday..." I was very perturbed to see that the fitbit Inspire HR bands use a springbar mechanism like the Pulse HR. It's not exactly the same. I think Withings wins here in that the springbar is part of the tracker rather than part of the changeable band. I like the push clasp mechanism of the old Alta HR band much better. The fitbit Inspire bands are a little too wide for my wrist.I like the bracelet style of the Alta HR much better than the mini-watch look of the Inspire HR. That's why I had to find a new, narrower band. The DYKEISS fits the bill. (Hey, wait a minute... DYKEISS... **ahem** kiss... is it a social commentary on my past lifestyle choices?  haha) Anyway, the DYKEISS band tucks inside so there's no unsightly flap. No need for the little loop that holds the excess band in place. The loops never really worked anyway as they slide around over time and the excess part of the band gets freed.

Overall, I'll conclude my review of the past week with a moderate thumbs up. I hope the next version of the Inspire HR will have a longer battery life without sacrificing size. In fact, I hope the tracker part gets a little thinner so it doesn't sit so high off my wrist. My wrist is a smidge under 6" around, so please bear this in mind when designing the next band. Keep up the wonderful color and style choices in bands (unless a certain other company that thinks that their bands should only come in 3 colors) and keep up the wonderful work on your app. Thanks fitbit!
