Light on Inspire HR turns on while sleeping if I move my arm

Even if I turn the sleep wake light off on my Inspire HR the screen light comes on when I move my arm. I would like to be able to wear it to track my sleep, but I can’t because if I do keep getting woken up my the light.

Hi, @ls441 , this is something you can control!  If you do not want your Inspire HR to light up when you turn your wrist, you can set this to OFF.

On your Inspire HR press and hold the button.  That will bring up a menu that shows, battery percent, screen wake, and notifications settings.  Swipe up to "screen wake".  When the light bulb is bright it will light up when you turn your wrist.  When the light bulb is dull, it won't.  Just tap your screen to toggle between screen wake ON or OFF.

You can turn this to OFF by tapping when you are ready for bed, and ON again in the morning when you wake up.  Or leave it always off.  Up to you...

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!

This doesn’t help. I’ve done this exact process and it still comes on during the night.

Hi, @ls441 , with the screen wake turned off even turning amd shaking won't wake it.  However, if the screen is tapped or knocked, it will still light up.  Obviously there does need to be a way to see stats, even with screen wake turned off (so, for example, suppose you wake in the night and want to know what time it is...?  A tap will make it light up, even with screen wake is set to off).

Could this be what is happening with your Fitbit?

I turned off screen wake to prevent it from coming on while I’m trying to sleep. It still comes on.  When I want the screen on, I have to use the button on the side, tapping does nothing.

I am having the same issue with my inspire HR. The first two nights it didn’t seem to be an issue but the third night wearing it I had to take it off because the screen was still waking just from moving my arm even with sleep wake off. Why on earth would anyone need to see stats or the time while they sleep?? Seems like a really bad explanation for a serious design flaw/glitch.

I disabled the "screen wake"  (light bulb is dull) yet the screen still lights up during the night for no apparent reason (meaning I don't touch the screen nor is the fitbit hitting my pillow or anything).  Obviously a bug.  Why can't it only light up when the button is pressed??

Me too!!! I hate it. It’s so so irritating. Why weave the option to turn it off. But then it’s still constantly on?

I have the same problem, when is this problem gonna be solved?

I was told by Fitbit customers services a while ago that they are working on a fix. Does anyone from Fitbit check these forums? Can we have an update?

I thought it was just me! I'm experiencing exactly the same.

I turned the light off precisely to avoid it disturbing me in the night, but it still does.

However, during the day, no amount of tapping or shaking will get the display to illuminate - I have to use the button.

Now, if it could be programmed to do it the other way round, that would be perfect!

Very irritating 😡

Had an Alta for 5 years, just recently bought a Fitbit Inspire HR , really like it but finding it much more advanced than the Alta...I'm sure I'll get used to it!?

So disappointing this still hasn’t been addressed! I also have sleep wake turned off, and the screen lights up just touching the sheets.  Fitbit, please create an option to wake the screen only with the the button!

i quit wearing it at night. I put a plastic cover on it and it seems less sensitive. I have to tap it solidly to get it to come on and it doesn't come on as easily at night. Not a solution for everyone.

I’m having the same problem after 3 weeks of wearing it to bed. It’s really annoying!
