Loss of steps and inaccurate syncing

My new fit bit is not syncing properly . I have been taking a picture each evening if my steps and when I go into the weekly log it is different.
An example is at 19:41 this evening I had 11,665 steps on my fit bit and then at 19:49 after syncing it went to 8,316!! It is also not accurately recording any Pilates or work outs I do. I have only had it for a week 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:🤦🏻‍:female_sign: I have pictures if you need these.

This is happening to me right now!  I had 9,971 steps but every time I sync it drops to 3,175!  May not seem like much but with my current health issues, exceeding my 8,000 goal was a great feeling and knowing I would easily surpass the 10k recommended for the day was even better. Just to get discouraged when I synced and it removed my steps!  What’s happening FitBit?

I have had a decrease in steps for the past two days.  Previous to this, nothing 'odd' has happened.  I've done some searching and in other cases, it seems to be where people have also manually added their activity.  However, I have not done any manual adding and it's very frustrating.

For example, I do the same walk every morning.  It's roughly 8,500 steps.  All other days, this has reflected correctly on my Inspire watch but for the last two days, I've arrived home and can see it says 8,500 steps but half an hour later when I checked, it was around 7,000 steps.  I had not done anything to the Fitbit watch or app in that time.  Why is this happening?

Apparently this is affecting more of the Fitbit community than just a handful. I phoned customer support on Monday and again today to try and get some answers and basically was told others are experiencing the some issues. They told me their support team is working on the problem, I tried pressing them on a possible resolution time frame, to no avail. Like you I lost 4400 steps this morning after 66 minutes of walking. My Inspire can't seem to distinguish between walking and an elliptical and its not calculating active minutes either. This has been going on for about 2 months after repeated calls to customer support. I'm about ready to give up on them and their tracker.

That may explain it. I didn't have any update notifications, so I'm not sure why I was affected?

I have stopped syncing till we get an app update but now my clock isn’t working right either. Very disappointed right now. I’ll be making a call

to them if there is no update soon.  Is everyone using an iPhone or Apple device with your Fitbit? That’s what mine is synced to

Hi, I am using Android. I have another issue, posted on here earlier,
concerning today's miles not being realistic to steps. Not overly happy.

I feel your pain! The only remedy for now is to manually log your miles until the Fitbit Support team figures out the problem. They've assured me they are working on the issue and a resolution should be.........who knows?

I'm not having your problems, I'm losing steps/miles/active minutes. I have a Samsung S10 phone.

I am having the same issue. At 10:51 pm I had 10,992 steps and at 10:53 I had 8,345. Incredibly frustrating. I have tried the suggested solutions, restart the fitbit, etc etc but it doesn't work. I even switched to the brand new charge 4, and it synced fine, showed the right step count, and then suddenly an hour later it lost the steps again.
