Sometimes I get a map of my walk and sometimes I don't, and I don't know why. I have Inspire 2, and my phone, which I take with me when I walk, is a Galaxy A32 5G. I have location set to "on always" for fitbit. I also usually have bluetooth on, but it will not pair with my fitbit.
I walk both at home and in a National Forest near here, where there is no internet. When I walk there, the map shows up when we are back where there is internet and I sync my phone.
When I do not get the map, I do get all the other information; only the map is missing.

Hi, @stephcats , if you start tracking your walk using the exercise app on the Inspire 2, and have your phone with you, you should get a map, as long as your phone can pick up a GPS signal and location is set to always on. If your phone cannot connect to the GPS, you will not get a map but you will get the other information.
If you let the Inspire 2 track your walk automatically (using the smarttrack feature) you will not get a map of your walk, or a notification of the distance, but you will get steps, heart rate etc.
I think these are the most likely reasons for the variation in whether you get a map or not.

Julia, I do take my phone with me, with location always on for fitbit, and I do use the exercise app on my Inspire 2. But sometimes I do not get the map and sometimes I do.
Any other ideas? Does it have anything to do with Bluetooth?

In that case it means that the GPS signal your phone is picking up is lost or weak on the days you do not get a map.

If lost, your ctracker should display an icon, showing that it has lost a GPS signal.

This morning I experimented with various settings, and got the map when Bluetooth was on, location on always for fitbit, and Maps location off, even when my Bluetooth speaker was still paired with my phone. Beyond that, it didn't matter if I had our wireless on, the mobile network on, or neither. The map would show when I synced.
We;ll see if this is what works the next time we go hiking at the National Forest.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, you do not need internet for GPS to work, but the Fitbit app does need to be working in the background with location on and Bluetooth on.

I am convinced there is no rhyme or reason to this issue. The other day i had it all worked out. This morning we went hiking in the National Forest. I left my phone set up as it was as a result of my experiments the other day. No map. i did another experiment when we got home, still not changing any settings on my phone. I got a map. Then I restarted my phone (something I have had to do more than usual lately) and walked again, still not changing any settings. This time no map. This is just hit and miss.
