Money taken but on back order

I ordered a inspire hr a couple of days ago. It's on back order until 14aug stated on the site. However my money was taken today is that right ? Or should they take the money when it's shipped ?

Hi @Kezza74  most retailers place a hold on the funds when you order, to be sure the money is there when the item is shipped. When I place a Walmart grocery order (pick up is pretty convenient) they put a hold on the total amount of the funds before I even pick up the items. That way, they are assured of getting paid if I decide to charge over my limit before getting to the store. It's probably similar with Fitbit. Have you checked with customer support to ask them?

As Odyssey13 stated, when you purchase a item that is on backorder, our system reserves the amount for the payment. The money is still on your account but is moved aside, so that we can collect it as soon as your product is shipped. 

Should you have any other concern regarding any payment or transaction, I'll advice you to contact Support directly. So that they can investigate the situation. 

Also it is recommendable to contact Support directly, as you might need to provide some personal information for the research and the Community is an open channel for everyone to see.
