My Inspire 2 records more Active Zone minutes when I’m walking at around 4 km/h than when I’m in a spin and Body Pump classes, and when I’m doing energetic dance moves at home. Why, and how accurate are recordings?
Also, I am quite fit and have been regularly achieving an average of around 100 active zone minutes daily. Even on days when I have earned 140 minutes and only had around 5 1/2 hours sleep, my Fitbit says my Readinss is ‘good (& on some occasions‘ excellent’. When it is’good’, the recommendation is for me to have some exercise but not overdo it, and then Fitbit recommends I aim for 120 to 149 active minutes on that day!! Why is this happening, as that tally requires quite a bit of activity, and I would have though lower hours of sleep would affect the score more. I even received a ‘good’ readiness score after 4.5 hours sleep earlier this week.

AZM are all based on heart rate. You can look your heart rate chart on the workout logs of your exercise sessions to see how you are getting the AZM, and judge if the heart rate readings seem reasonable. And note your heart rate reading occasionally during your workouts to judge if they seem to reflect how hard you feel you are working. If they don't, the problem is not really in AZM calculation but in the heart rate readings themselves. AZM is a straightforward calculation from heart rate, so any problem in AZM would come from heart rate reading errors, and these can happen, especially with activities involving lots of arm movements.

My resting HR fluctuates between 47 and 49, which I believe is accurate. In a combined half hour strength and aerobic session yesterday, Fitbit said my HR spiked at 206 at one point, which I disbelieve.
My average heart rate during walks varies between 88 and 115 or so, and my walks are often around 40 minimum. I don’t feel puffed during them, or afterwards.
My HR last night was higher than usual, due to my dinner choices, and I have another ‘Good’ readiness rating with a suggestion that I don’t overdo things but aim for 123 to 145 AZM. I have recorded over 120 AZM every day this week.
