My Inspire time is wrong, and my IOS app can't find the fitbit

I haven't worn my fitbit since March due to Covid.  I noticed last week that my fitbit's time is off - for example, the current time is 7:18 pm but my fitbit says it is 05:35.

Also, I went to my app on my IOS phone.  It was last syncced on 2/21/20 at 10:26 pm.  Version 20001.63.5  My phone has Bluetooth turned on.  All-day sync is off (it was eating too much battery a year ago so I turned that off).  I pressed "Sync Now" about 10 minutes ago.  The phone is sitting next to my fitbit, and the fitbit's battery is at 88%.

The phone app is flashing (in faded font) between "Sync Now" and "Looking..." on that line.

I have run out of ideas.  Please help!

addendum: I restarted the inspire (while charging, press the button for 5 seconds, let go, see the smile face, etc).  Still has the wrong time.  Telephone still flashing between "Sync Now" and "Looking..."
