My MacBook Air laptop does not recognize my device/fitbit Inspire HR

I just recv'd FB Inspire HR for Christmas and not able to install/sync it to my MacBook Air laptop.  The OS on the Mac is High Sierra - v 10.13.6.  It's not recognizing my fitbit.  What do I need to do???

I also keep getting message "No internet connection found", but I clearly have internet connection via this message.  I'm very frustrated I can't even get this fitbit setup to use.
