Hold in left button a few seconds;  look for 'Screen Wake'; tap to toggle on or off.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much. I just got this a week ago and it seemed
to just stop working. I had to push the button to see the time.
