My inspire HR keeps saying I’ve burned 1,500, yet it hasn’t counted any steps or miles.

I bought my new Fitbit inspire hr during the mother’s day sale, and immediately started having issues with it, just like I had with my old fit bit, the flex 2, after I had set it up with my Fitbit account since I already had the app, it immediately started counting calories even though I wasn’t wearing it or touching it, all I was doing was charging it. It’s almost been a month since I got it and haven’t worn it yet as a way to experiment with it to see if it will act like my old one, and so far it has, my inspire hr, lays down on my bedside table, stays there, as I leave to go to work, I come home every evening, same results, 0 steps taken, 1,553 calories burned, (how? I don’t wear it physically) and 0 miles counted. I experienced this last time with my flex 2 before it stopped charging then completely died. Please help, I’m tired of dealing with this every day and dealing with the same problem, I got a new Fitbit hoping to solve the problem and not deal with this.

Hi @Emily870719  What is happening is NOT a problem or defect! The calories listed are your Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) calories that you burn just by being alive (based on your weight, height, age and gender as recorded in the Fitbit app). If you wear your fitbit you will also get calories recorded to cover the calories you burn while moving around an exercising, but the BMR calories will always be there.
