My Fitbit Inspire HR is calculating distance incorrectly on bike mode although I have GPS on and the Fitbit App running on my Galaxy S9. The Google map in the App shows the path that I rode correctly but it shows a distance of only 0.4 miles when the loop that I made is about 6 miles.

Hi @JLDC, thanks for stopping by. Welcome to the Community Forums! I really appreciate all the details in your post.
That's odd, that you're no longer getting the correct kilometer count on your GPS tracking when using your Inspire CH. Please restart your tracker and keep in mind that environmental factors including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and even thick cloud cover can interfere with your tracker's ability to connect to GPS satellites; it might be causing this missing information.
Please make sure that you're following all the steps suggested:
Is this happening with other GPS activity?
Keep me posted, I'll be around.

I had a similar issue...rode 3x this week - first 2 were recorded perfectly, but today's stopped just about halfway through and picked back up 4-5 miles later. I manually selected "Bike" on the Inspire HR all 3x.
The map shows a distance of 5.73 miles, but it should be +/- 10 miles. It stopped recording speed/distance (but not time), and then picked back up and connected it the gap with straight lines, though I was riding a winding course.
It seems like there are a lot of tracking issues when I look through the message boards. The fix is always to restart, but 1) that helps no one until you find out after you're done and then hope the next time it will work, and 2) shouldn't there be a software fix for this??!!

Yojana, Bob -- Thanks for your swift responses. I followed Yojana recommendations but still the mileage reading during the bike mode is wrong. It only reads about 0.1 miles when I ride about 6 miles. But again, the path in the Google map in the Fitbit App looks correct! I also uninstalled the App from my Samsung Galaxy S9, reinstalled it and rebooted my phone, But the problem continues. The fitbit inspire HR that I have is brand new and have had this problem since the first time I tried it. I am suspecting I might have a defective fitbit.

I have a new fitbit inspire HR also & am having same problem. Bike rides track on map, but mileage shows only a fraction of actual distance.

This is happening in Walking mode as well. Every day it is off my 0.5 miles or more. My Inspire is 10 months old. It was accurate up until May. Yes, customer service just tells you to restart and walk 100 steps. As long as that works, they say it's working just fine. 😒

He's referring to miles, not kilometers. Just sayin'...

We'll be lucky to get a real answer. Fitbit customer service is a bit "F" always has been. Too bad, because it's a decent product.

same thing happening to me, i am riding 10 miles and only shows a fraction, while bpm and the Map are accurate. When i followed your instructions i noticed my message at the top of the bike screen is toggling between "connecting" and "connected" it doesnt seem to stick in "connected" mode. But if the GPS is the issue, how does the map of travel show correctly?

I have had my Inspire HR since Christmas 2019, tried all of the above and it still doesn't work. Today I cycled around 4 hours in areas with good connection, yet I come home only to see the first 15 minutes have been recorded, and I'm not even talking about the GPS (gave up on that one already after the first month) but just the bike ride. If I had known this before, I would have asked for a different device as a Christmas gift. My boyfriend got his end of December too, and he experiences the same issues. How can this happen?
This is highly disappointing and one of the main features of your product. Who should we customers contact to get a decent response from you?
