Not counting steps when pushing stroller or grocery cart.

I have noticed that my steps are not being counted (or counted as well) when I am pushing my son's stroller or grocery cart.  This has been a continuous issue since I have started using my Fitbit 2 months ago.  For example, I went out on Sunday for a walk.  I know my walk was more than 2 miles long but my Fitbit only registered .97 miles and ~1,200 steps.  I know I had more steps than that.  I cannot put my Fitbit in my pocket because I usually wear leggings or yoga pants and they do not have pockets.  When my Fitbit does recognize my steps, it says I did a bicycle exercise.  Is there any way to register my steps? Is there any way to inform my Fitbit that I am pushing something while walking?

Hello @Indy_mom_of_3 and welcome to the Help forums.  Your Inspire has two modes, On Wrist and On Clip.  You change from the On Wrist to On Clip by using the Quick Settings on the Inspire.  Press and hold the button for about 2 seconds to get to the Quick Settings.  The Fitbit Store sells a clip for the Inspire just for this.  Sites like Amazon have third party clips that work just as well and cost less.

The wrist setting needs the "walking motion" to count steps.

I have the same problem with the Versa 3. It maps where I go perfectly but just has the steps and distance completely wrong, normally a little over half. The only non helpful reply I got was to check the GPS settings even though the GPS was obviously working.

There is a feature request with over 1000 votes but of course it's not planned so perhaps if we get more people voting they might do something - https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Stroller-Mode/idi-p/1367070

I have also seen suggestions that using Hike instead of Walk may work but that didn't help me.

Steps not being counted when pushing a cart or stroller or holding on to your purse straps while walking is why I miss the Fitbit Zip.  I wore my husband's Zip and my wrist Versa 3 to compare recording. If a traditional walk its the same but at the grocery or other shopping the  Versa is a disappointment.  Bring back the ZIP.
