Not logging any of my footsteps

Switched from a Fitbit Alta to to Fitbit Inspire HR.  I ran the setup and it was complete.  It is not showing any of my information.  My daily progress like footsteps or place for my water consumption.  Is it the same format or is it a different set up?  It will allow me to enter my water consumption, but my footsteps per day are not being recorded like with the Fitbit Alta.  It was so easy and very understandable with the Alta's format.  Please help I am so confused.  Not very computer savy.

Is it on the tracker or on the app that you not seeing any step count?

If not seeing on the tracker, do you see where steps would be displayed?   Does it show zero, or blank, or dashes, or something else?

You say it is not showing any of your information.  Is there any display at all on the tracker?  If so, what is it showing and what it is missing?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

It is apply footsteps on my fitbit but not on my cellphone where it usually keeps track.  It is not keeping the daily steps and then the weekly and the monthly steps.

If it looks right on your tracker, it sounds like it is not syncing.  Check last time synced to see if it was recent.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
