Not recording sleep properly Inspire 2

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I moved to an Inspire 2 from an Alta HR. I like many things about the new tracker but for the last two nights it is only recording a few hours sleep. My Alta always did this properly. I have the Inspire set up right but is there some glitch on the software? Seems a lot of uses have this same problem.

Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @AnneEllen

Thank you for sharing this information about the inconvenience you've been experiencing with your Inspire 2.

Keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please make sure of the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Before considering other options, please try to complete a restart procedure following the steps listed hereIn addition, please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days. In the meantime, for the nights that don't have sleep data, you can manually log your sleep by going to the Fitbit app, tapping on the "+" icon next to the sleep tile > Add Sleep Log and entering your details.

Hope this helps, I'll be around

Thanks.  I tried the reboot and will give it a few days.  I can't modify past sleep periods as what's been happening is that  hours are recorded, 3 hr/59 min, 38 min, 1 hr/22 min in the past 3 days, for instance.  And once something is recorded it apparently cannot be edited.  Yet I slept 7 to 8 hours each of those nights so clearly something is wrong.  Will try a different band, too.  Am just hoping the problem is not in the technology, just my own mechanics of wearing the tracker.

@AnneEllen Thank you for your reply and for sharing all these extra details!

Let me know if you continue to experience the same behavior after the steps suggested earlier. This has been useful for some users having trouble with their sleep records.

I'll be around.
