Notifications from email other than Gmail

I don't understand why you can only get notifications from Gmail and not any other email client.  Many people have multiple email addresses and use different email clients, and you should be able to get notifications from any of them.  At least, you should be able to select a different one as your primary email source.  Is anyone else frustrated by this?

Thanks for taking a break from stepping @TrainerDebby. Thanks for letting me know that you're having issues with the email notifications on your Fitbit Inspire HR.

I really appreciate all the time that you've taken to troubleshoot this. Please check the following information to help your Fitbit to receive your notifications again.

Requirements:

  • Phone should be a compatible device check our list of compatible devices
  • The phone must be bonded with their device
  • Bluetooth service must be turned on
  • For Android phones: to help improve the delivery, go to Notifications and make sure Enable Notification Widget is on.
  • If you recently updated the Fitbit app, reboot your mobile device and try setting up notifications again.
  • Make sure the Do Not Disturb setting on your mobile device is turned off because it prevents the device from sending notifications to your device.

If you aren't receiving notifications, try these steps:

1. Turn off Bluetooth.
2. Force quit the Fitbit app.
3. Turn on Bluetooth.
4. Open the Fitbit app, which will initiate a sync with your device. After syncing, you should receive notifications.

If these steps didn’t work, try restarting your device and then turning notifications off and back on:

1. Restart your device.
2. Turn off notifications: In the Fitbit app under Account (upper right corner), tap Notifications. Tap the three dots in the top right and choose Disable Notifications.
3. Reboot your mobile device.
4. In the Fitbit app under Account (upper right corner), tap Notifications > turn on the notifications you want to receive.

If you're still not receiving notifications, set up notifications again:

1. Disconnect ("unpair") your device in your mobile device's Bluetooth settings. The instructions differ by device, but in most cases: Tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your tracker in the list of paired devices.
2. Open the Fitbit app under Account (upper right corner), Tap Forget or Forget Device to unpair your device.
3. Reboot your mobile device.
4. In the Fitbit app under Account (upper right corner), tap Notifications > turn on the notifications you want to receive.

Also check your phone Permissions and leave location on to keep syncing with your phone, for more info check those suggestions from @ErickFitbit

Hope this helps!

Hello @YojanaFitbit ,

I am getting notifications from Gmail and every other app where I have turned notifications on, so this is not the problem.  I want to also get notifications from the native email client on my Samsung Galaxy S9.  I already went through all your steps below with Fitbit Support, and when we were done, they told me you can only get email notifications from one email program, and it is Gmail.

In the Fitbit app, if I go to my device, then Notifications > Emails - the only choice is Gmail.

If I go to App Notifications and check the box for the native Samsung email program, I will still not get notifications from this program.

My frustration comes from the fact that I actually used to get notifications just fine from the native Samsung email program, but sometime in late July/early August, it stopped working.

Sadly, the default email program on my Moto Z3 still isn't displayed as an option.
