Please add "drumming" as an activity to be logged

Fitbit, Please make an option for drumming as an activity that allows for heart rate to be counted but not steps.  Or adjust steps to be properly weighted for while drumming.  When I play drums for a few hours it will say that I have taken anywhere from 25k-30k steps.  While I am active, Fitbit is mistaking each strike on the drum as a step, this skews my calories burned so I have no idea of the actual number.

A drumming option on the Fitbit could apply to piano and many other ‘hands active’ movements as well.  I know a piano player who boasts that he burns 1100 calories by playing piano when in reality Fitbit just doesn’t understand the activity.

Fitbit please make a fix for this

Hi there, @Guydrums. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Inspire 2 data.

Please note when a specific exercise is not available within the exercises we offer, we suggest to use "Workout" (which is a generic catch-all for other types of exercise). Once you finish the activity, you can rename the activity to desired exercise/activity. Please note that the amount of calories burned vary from the exercise you're performing and due to the heart rate tracked by your Fitbit device.

Note that the information to enter will change depending on the nature of the exercise. To give you an example, if you change from "Workout" to "Run", it won't remove the calories but will add distance as the main stat to be displayed, this happen depending of the activity you are categorizing. However, your the data already tracked will be still counted for your daily totals.

For more information about how to do so, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
