Real time app “heart rate”

Hi, I recently purchased an inspire 2. My goal was to monitor my heart rate while exercising. The heart rate on the inspire 2 is unreadable in daylight even with the “dim screen” feature disabled. I was able to work around this by opening the app while outside exercising & viewing my heart rate live real-time. I updated the Fitbit app & Fitbit has disabled the real-time live heart rate function. This was confirmed by customer service. Does anyone know of a way to view real-time heart rate on the app or how to revert back to the old app which worked fine? Very disappointed with Fitbit. I would not recommend this product. Thx

Hi, @SOS39 , what Customer Service told you was incorrect.  As long as your Fitbit is actively connected via Bluetooth the new app will show your current heart rate.  I am looking at mine on the new app right now and watching it change as I sit and type… (I have selected to focus on heart health on the new app so my heart rate is front and centre - yours may look a little different, depending on your focus, but in all cases you will have the ability to see your current heart rate in the app).  When the Fitbit is not actively connected to your app, or when you look at previous days, you will see the full HR range, as per the pictures below.

App with Fitbit actively connected:

Compare to app showing previous days or when Fitbit not actively connected:

I hope this helps!  Please post again if you would like help on other aspects of the new app.  It is not possible officially to revert to older versions of the Fitbit app.

Thanks, you’re correct. The app is showing real-time heart rate now. I don’t know why customer service misinformed me.
Can you advise how I can select to focus on heart health on the new app so my heart rate is front and centre -  as you described/pictured.
Thanks again for your help.

Welcome to the forums @SOS39.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding the new app.

@Julia_G  is always providing help. Thanks to her for that.

How do I change and customize my focus goal?

Now you can choose from one of the default focus goals options, or create your own goal with the stats of your choice.

First, you must press the pencil tile that allows you to change the dashboard.

After that, swipe all the way to the left to either select the preset focus goal, or the Custom Preset

If you select the Custom Preset, you can select up to 4 stats to be displayed on the main screen. Tap on each spot to select the location and metric you wish to view. Don't forget to hit Save after you're done.

I have a pixel watch 2 and I too am unable to see the current heart rate. I have tried the above custom settings but all I get is the range not the current rate. I have seen on another forum that there is a problem that Fitbit is on to. Is this correct?

Thanks for any help provided.

I have contacted Fitbit support after factory resttting the watch, clearing the fitbit cache, uninstalling fitbit, restarting the watch etc etc. NOthing works and Support don't seem to know eiether and say they will have to get back to me.

I have tried the above remedies to no avail also.

Anyone else having this issue on Pixel watch 2?

Hi Julie_G

Can you explain what you mean by "actively connected" and how I ensure this is the case?

See my posts below but everything else is syncing fine for me except the current heart rate.

Nope, on my side it doesn’t work. I’ve faced many problems since the last pathetic « new » app but the real time heart rate was nevertheless working fine… until 3 days ago.
I’ve changed the interface, tried again. I can see the historic, but no longer the real time.
