Hello all,

wondering if you can help me. Recently got inspire Fitbit ( 4 days ago) very much delighted to have gotten it- but now I’m worried I should have gotten one of the more advanced ones. It’s telling me I’ve burned a ridiculous amount of calories when it could not be possible- I also feel likes over calculating my distance I’ve walked.

please help- as I’m so new to this  and feeling a little deflated my recent bday present

@CarolineMcD34 Welcome!  Without knowing more specific information, we aren't going to be able to help.  Calories is very specific to each person -- it factors age, sex, weight, height, etc into it.  Then, add in a raised heart rate, normal daily movements, and any exercises throughout the day and your calorie burn goes up.

As far as the distance goes, that is also personal.  Different people have different stride lengths.  Shorter people cover more steps per 1 mile than a taller person will, usually.  About 13,000 steps of walking (not running) is roughly 5.5 miles for me (about 2,400 steps per mile of walking).  If I go for a run, I get less steps per mile, roughly 2,000 steps of running per mile.

So without having more information from you, I can't really say if your Fitbit is behaving normally or not.
