Red dot for old notification won’t go away

Hi, I am 4 days into using my Fitbit inspire hr and have encountered a problem that I can’t find an answer for. I received a notification to congratulate me on a swim (I hadn’t been for a swim) and I am not able to swipe it to delete it like I have with the other notifications. I was able to delete the swim from my exercise tab but not the notification. Additionally the red dot is still showing as though it is a new one.
I don’t have any notifications on the device itself just on the app. I am using an iPhone 6s on iOS 13.3. Can anyone advise how I can clear this? I have already tried deleting the device from the app but when I put it back on it was still there. 
Any help would be appreciated.
