Replacement Inspire 2 screen impossibly dim & FitBit deactivated my original unit

My original Inspire 2 was having battery issues - needed charged every couple days and after trouble shooting with customer service they sent a replacement unit as it was only six months old and still under warranty.

The replacement unit they sent however has an impossibly dim screen & isn't responding well to touch activation. I've used customer support chat & phone twice each and checked all the things - Dim function/Sleep/DND - I've restarted & repaired it with my phone several times - I've changed the clock face more than once and it's still basically impossible to read even in very low light.

When you change the dim feature on/off you can notice a slight change in the brightness but it's still horrible compared to my original unit. I spent ages with customer service on chat & the phone troubleshooting everything and they finally authorized another replacement however in the meantime I wanted to use my original unit with the bad battery life only to find out they deactivated it completely when i paired the replacement and it cant be paired with the app again.

More time with customer service and they told me they can deactivate devices but not activate them and so they've essentially bricked my unit and I'm left with nothing until another replacement arrives which I'm not super confident will be better than the last.
