Hi,

I regularly visit the sauna and steam room along with swimming. Will the Inspire HR last in those conditions mainly as a timer?

Thanks

Probably not. Fitbit say:

  • Do not expose your Fitbit product to extremely high or low temperatures.
  • Do not use your Fitbit product in a sauna or steam room.

At the very least it will invalidate your warranty

I have fitbit versa 2 and would like to report my experience on this topic. Standard disclaimer: Please exercise caution and use your discretion. Your mileage may vary!

After my full workout in the gym, I do sauna followed by steam and have NOT taken my Versa 2 in the sauna. However, i have been taking it in the steam room (for 10 mins or so). I have been doing it for 3 months now and did not have any issues with it. My guess is that in the steam room, the watch does not become too hot due to presence of moisture.

Obviously, i would not take it in the sauna as it's dry heat and can damage the internals.

This way at-least i am tracking my heart rate and workout in the steam and miss my stats only during sauna. Wish this also gets resolved some day!

Note: I do have a screen protector on my versa 2 (IQShield)...not sure if that is making any difference or not.

Thanks

So I've been going to the sauna twice a day for the past 3 to 4 months with my Versa 2, about 10 to 20 minutes each session. Right now it finally started to have issues and what happens is that your touch screen will start freaking out and clicking constantly. So much so that you can't even wear it to sleep because the thing just keeps clicking and clicking and clicking, it seems though now that I haven't taken it into the sauna for a day it has come back to normal but I can no longer swipe up or down on the watch and basically have to do all of its functionality from the phone or with the button on the side of the watch. So I think for smaller sessions like 5 to 10 minutes and less infrequent will be totally fine, but if you're doing longer sessions like me it will eventually start to mess up. Interesting thing is I take my phone with me every time I go to sauna 2 and it's totally fine. I don't know if it's due to having a screen protector and as a comment above said they have a screen protector on theirs but I have a feeling it wouldn't change anything on the watch because I think something is expanding and contracting on the watch that eventually keeps pressing the screen because after not using it in the sauna it seems to come back to normal (besides not being able to swipe anymore or click some parts of the screen) Hope that helps someone, as said I've

use it extensively in the sauna everyday until now.
